Misha and Yuuko are favorites from what I've observed. They are the only non path girls in act 1 with a decent amount of lines, and there is some good fan art of Kenji/Yuuko on the shimmie. Personally, I think it's someone we haven't seen yet.

Frankly, funny as it is to think about Misha or something, I think we will never really discover this mysterious ex-girlfriend of him. She is there as a piece of his background to explain why he is crazy, she isn't actually a character.

Hisao did it.

My guess has always been Misha, especially with the one scene where they actually meet in Act 1.

I voted "we'll never know". I forgot how many students Yamaku has, but I'd say the odds of it being one of the people mentioned in the poll are fairly low. I personally don't believe every character important enough to get a paper doll NEEDS to have all his/her loose ends connected to other character important enough to get a paper doll. (or even a mention) I don't think the identity of the person who took his virginity is that important to the establishing of Kenji's character.

As an aside...since it was mentioned Kenji was modelled after A22, is it possible A22 got his soul stolen away in a similar manner at some point in the past?

I'd prefer it to be Yuuko - her involvement seems the most plausible, especially given her nervous disposition and her anxious desire to help... but not entirely succeed at it. Similarly (as I've written in a couple of other posts) she tries to help bring an unhappy, lonely boy out of isolation with a measure of closeness and tenderness - but Yuuko's attempt at amateur therapy backfires messily to drive Kenji into the "enervated" state we find him in now.

Having all of the characters interrelated with each other is a little more elegant than introducing outside forces, and it creates the opportunity for subplots to resolve those damaged relationships (his essence has been stolen, can he get it back?).

As much as I would love for it to be Misha I have to admit that we probably arn't going to find out. Same with that acursed box.

As much as I heart Rin and want to deny it, Rin seems very plausible for this.
