I don´t know how to use the IRC, but I want to know. What are the basics about it?

I hear typing is a major component of it.

A bit of advice for when you get on: lurk a bit before you start getting active in the channel.
EDIT: Oh right, I should also mention that there are periods of no activity every now and then. This is normal.

So that was it? I thought it was my fault, but not. The IRC link in the website sometimes direct me like that. Now I know what to do if that happen again. Thanks.
