Since it's already been established from day one that Hisao will ultimately have his way with the Yamaku girls, will the story of Katawa Shoujo also deal with the topic of pregnancy, like some visual novels in the past have indeed done? And what about veneral diseases? Will the player get an option to wear a rubber johnny on a strategic moment? Or are all Yamaku girls conveniently on some obscure hentai world medication that also doubles as a contraceptive?

I don't think the game will go anywhere near STDs, but pregnancy could come in to play. It depends on how they structure the game, and whether they even want that. Theoretically, they could put in a 'months later' epilogue sort of thing.

Having played YMK, I wasn't surprised that one of the heroines got pregnant. I was actually surprised that the other two DIDN'T. Seriously, it had a nice story... but god damn, the amount of seed that was pumped into those girls was inhuman. And the protagonist must have had Neo-like skills to dodge the bullet so many times.

Aeka path had the contraception issue right at the doorstep of the very first sex scene. And some couples in the real world have to try for years until they can produce offspring. Here's a guide how to do it right.

The only way one/both of these come into play. Would be if we had a 'nice boat' ending on one of the paths, but that would be kinda lame.

YMK: Yume Miru Kusuri: A Drug That Makes You Dream. Pretty good VN, interesting plots, good story, sweet endings... but there are a TON of porn scenes. Seriously, on one of the girl's paths there are like 8 of them. Even so, it's still a good game. I recommend playing it.
