I had never played a bishoujo game before Katawa Shoujo and I was just wondering what are some other good games similar to this that I could get into? Anything besides Clannad, Kanon and Fate/Stay night. Thanks

I haven't played that many VN, but I really liked (and so did all of /v/) Yume Miru Kusuri: A Drug That Makes You Dream.

Saya no Uta is badass.

Well, I'm not sure how similar it is to KS, but I've been playing Tsukihime again recently, and it's really good. Quite an emotional story as you get further in the game, and it has great characters and a pretty good storyline. So maybe you should look into playing it if you haven't already. Besides that though, I'd also second the recommendation of Yume Miru Kusuri, as I've heard great things about it, though I haven't gotten around to playing it myself just yet.

In addition to all that's been mentioned, I'd add Narcissu. It's free, too!

There really isn't much out there like KS. KS is a rather unique concept after all.

Agreeing with Envy in that there are really not much games that are *quite* like KS, but many have similar stuff. Of the English translated ones, Yume Miru Kusuri is probably the best choice, though it's very heavy on the porn department.

The only VNs other than KS I can recall playing are Planetarian and Saya no Uta, neither were similar but I enjoyed both.
Which begs the question why I don't play more, I suppose...

I'm surprised noone brought up Kana Little Sister aka Kana Imouto, given this sort of genre. Its the only VN I like more than this one. You have a sister who has a disease that leaves her mostly bedridden and weak, and you look after her as she grows up from a small child, and she either tries to live a normal life and overcome her hindrances, or accepts the way she is and becomes intelligent and thoughtful. If you liked Hanako shes that sort of character.

It kind of sounds like its something really weird, just like KS ("a cripple dating game"), but its not what you'd think. Watch out though its a real tearjerker. I think the review section on gamefaqs speaks for itself really. http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin ... 82493.html

Good point on Kana. I haven't played it, yet, so it slipped my mind. It's definitely high on my to-play list, though.
