I should probably add that we can choose how we act, but we cannot choose the consequences of our actions, much like we can choose to go up the ski ramp, and do not have the choice whether to fly through the air or not after that.

Most human, hominid, apes and some mammal have reasoning thinking. They (or subjective speaking, We) knows the consequence of things we done as long as it is not too complex.

Hello everyone. I wish to remind you, the reader of my post, that you are in "Thoughts on the H-scene?" thread in Public Discussion in Katawa Shoujo forum. You have rights to ignore this and discuss about anything as long as it isn't against the forum rule, As it is, you, a Homo quasi-Sapiens Sapiens, have right to make a choice. (Unless you are not human which I wonder how could you understands the forum written in human's language)

^ I love how you changed the topic title, Auratus

Anyways, at first i was going to say that, thinking about it, i felt that the only H-scenes that were strictly unnecessary (in the sense that they didn't really advance the story) were Emi's H-scenes, but now i feel that they lightheartedness of the sex scenes as well as the lack of any point of it beyond "for fun" really fits Emi's character and her relationship with Hisao at the time of the first two, as well as helping to set up a contrasting, upbeat tone when compared to the moments where we first learn of Emi's main conflict.

And of course, the third H-scene is extremely cathartic after all of the events in the Graveyard, and is probably one of the most touching moments in the game.

See, this is why I don't get how people can say that it's pointless. When I think about my past relationships, there are many dimensions to my partners at the time that I'd never have seen before sleeping with them. It's typical to act as though sex scenes are only for titillation and that sex is something that shouldn't be spoken of in a serious story, but it's a pretty significant part of the human experience. More relevant to Emi, though, is that the way sex is handled in a story doesn't just tell you about the people involved (and it certainly does tell you more about Emi and Emi-route Hisao), it also helps set the tone of the story. Emi's route was the story of a young, relatively inexperienced couple, and the sex they had set the tone of their story. People are talking like Emi's scenes aren't even in the same class as Hanako's or RIn's, but of course they are. Emi never stops moving, her urges and emotions rule her, and the spontaneity of the first two highlights that. Emi is a well-written character, so everything she does in her story has meaning, damn it.

I agree about Emi's scenes saying something about her character, and I think something similar could be said with lily. Her H-scene comes right after She tells Hisao she loves him and they get together. One thing that I really like about lily's character is that she looks and sometimes acts prudish, but we are shown several examples of this not being the case. Especially when she comes to take a bath with Hisao that really shows that she is a girl in high school just like Hisao. "we are a couple of young fools" as she puts it.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to contradict your statement, because every one knows that Love Stinks.

I think you will both find that
Love bites, love bleeds
It's bringin' me to my knees
Love lives, love dies
It's no surprise
Love begs, love pleads
It's what I need

In the reply section there is a button that says URL. Click that, then inside the first box put an = then copy and paste the URL into it. you should be able to put some kind of text into it.

...I never knew.

As for the h-scenes, you could argue some aren't necessary but then you can argue picnics with Emi/Rin and train rides to Hokkaido are unnecessary too.
