I could come clean and admit to a typo, or I could go with the flow and say it was a clever play on words... Yeah I totally meant to say collage instead of college.

Now in honor of Valentines day, I would just like to say that I believe "Give me the chocolate Hisao" refers to an actual piece of chocolate in the shape of Hisao that Hanako wants.

Also here's how I think Hisao's parents reacted to each of the girls when introduced.
Shizune- They liked her. She did her best to make a good impression.
Lilly- They did not have a good impression since Hisao had another heart attack chasing after her.
Hanako- A little awkward, due to Hanako's nervousness and them not wanting to say the wrong thing.
Emi- They really liked her. She put on all the charm, and of course her concern about Hisao's health made a very good impression.
Rin- They really didn't know what to make of her. Then Rin asked Hisao if he could go into the bathroom with her and help her with her period.
"Misha, I don't think Chocoholism is a real disability."
"But the School's Entrance Board does Hi-Chan. Wahaha~"

Actually it's the girl who gives the chocolate to the guy...

There's white day for the other way around next month.

Never liked Valentine's Day. No better holiday encompasses mass media consumerism and the unhealthy expectations it puts on relationships.

I have always liked the Valentines/White Day combination, however.

Well, the US does have Steak and BJ Day (on 03-14), but that's not actually a widely recognized holiday, and has some connotations that are... problematic, to say the least.

Emi- Yeah, probably.
Rin- Honestly, now that I've read that, I can't imagine it happening any other way. Then Hisao looks between the Rin and his parents with a look that just says "Well, what are ya gonna do about it?" and walking after her.

It's my headcanon that in a post Misha Good End, introducing her to his parents will be a minor hell for Hisao:

"HI-CHAN~!", now in surround sound!

(His dad will tell him, "Well son, you brought it on yourself...")
I like all the girls in KS, but empathize with Hanako the most.

I actually have a scene somewhere in which Hisao's parents are chatting with one of his friends and recounting their meetings with Hisao's lady friends... and Hisao's dad makes this terrible joke...
I laugh, and then I almost choke when he continues, “Story of Hisao’s life, stubborn fellow. They’re all his friends! This one was embarrassed to show us she only had one hand though. It’s sad. But a pretty girl anyway.”

“She was living with him?” I ask casually.

“Yes! Almost like man and wife, the way she poured tea for us and all!”

Miki. I feel a sudden funny twinge in the guts. She actually lived with him? Bastard!

Hisao’s mother coughs politely. “Eh, Father, you are terrible. She was just a friend. I think she made it very clear to us, and we shouldn’t tease poor Hicchan like that.”

“Was joking only! Anyway, he was dating a blind girl and there was a deaf one, I think; the next one has no arms at all, and then it’s Emi Ibarazaki, and I told Mother, ‘Hey, dear, if this goes on, our son will have no body at all!’ Haha!”

I have always liked the Valentines/White Day combination, however.

Roses are red
Violets are blue
Romance born out of holiday obligation is infinitely less meaningful

(I spent much of today inventing parody poems. I have a great one about chicken nuggets, and also one about bleeding eyeballs.)

Anyway...brythain, that is an awful joke. And quite distinctly a dad joke.

Headcanon: Kenji anonymously sends Yuuko candy every Valentine's Day because the still-sane fragment left in his head regrets the loss.

I agree with you on Shizune and Emi...

Lilly
I wouldn't say she was disliked by Hisao's parents because of him having a heart attack chasing him, after all, it's not exactly like it's her fault his heart had a seizure.
I'd probably say they weren't too keen on her because she decided to up-sticks and bugger off to Haggistown with seemingly no warning.
Hanako
I imagine the awkwardness comes half from Hanako's introversion, and half from the massive elephant in the room that is her bacon face.
Rin
I can't imagine Hisao's parents would like Rin at all.

I think the Student Council actually still comprises all the class representatives, because that's the way the school probably has it set up, being a Japanese school. What's happened in Yamaku's case is that Shizune has basically given them all leave of absence from council meetings. They still have to run their own classes (settle class duty rosters, assist the teachers, supervise class projects such as festival food stalls) but they don't have to turn up any more for those meetings.

That would mean Aoi and Keiko (the two girls who turn up towards the end and want to be part of the SC) are probably class reps of two different junior classes. It also explains Lilly's behaviour as 3-2's class rep: she's obviously busy supervising her class and is a clear leader in that class. She acts like a council member, but isn't one as far as Hisao can see. That tea-room is likely what used to be the SC ex-co meeting room, now disused since Misha and Shizune use the main room for everything.

Yeah, headcanon. :)

I'm sure she probably would grow on them, but unless one of Hisao's parents has an affinity for abstract art I can't see them having any reason to want to see her again.

They're essentially being introduced to some monotoned amputee with the attention span of an ADHD-riddled magpie in a factory that specialises in coins, mirrors and especially shiny spoons. At least Hanako I fun to look at ;)

I can't shake the feeling that you're letting a certain amount of, shall we say delicately, personal bias seep in here.

Now, how about meetings between the couples' parents?

Shizune: utter disaster
Lilly: rather one-sided, but cordial
Emi: very pleasant and cheerful
Rin: total wildcard. But I'm gonna guess it goes ok.
Hanako:
NB: none of the above is a request
