Joined for great justice. I use the same username. How does one get that snazzy F@H signature?

Almost done with my second... thing.
Not too worried about the details. It helps and gives me a snazzy video to play while my computer's idling.

In like Flynn. Well, my name's not Flynn... but you get the idea. It'll be nice to use my PS3 for good.

Whoa, I've moved up the Top 20 Producers list pretty far in a short span of time.
Although I think I fried my desktop's GPU by making it fold for three days straight...

The Top 20 producers is only about current production, not about totals.
And three days? Don't worry about that hurting your GPU any. My Laptop's GPU has been folding for about 18 months now without problems.

18 months? Holy fucking shit.
Well, my monitor now refuses to put out any display from the computer whatsoever. Its menus and notices still work fine, and the computer seems to be still running.

Well, how old is your GPU? Depending on the age, that bit of stress might have been the bump it needed to go over the edge...

It's several months old. Around 8 or so, I guess. It's a GTX 560.

There's no reason for that to fail from the GPU client so fast, unless you were overclocking it pretty hard. Still, 8 months or so probably means still under warranty. Also, in a slightly perverse way, thanks for giving me a reason not to try the GPU client on my 6870
Anyway, yeah, go for the warranty

Yeah, the warranty expires this September anyway. Time to get me a free new card, lololol

Ive just started a few days ago. Running it on my desktop:
AMD Phenom II X2 @ 3.0 Ghz
NVIDIA GTS 450
And my laptop:
Pentium M @ 1.6 Ghz.

If you don't mind leaving that laptop on, then go for it but honestly with a processor that weedy I don't think its going to be worthwhile. The PCs fine, mind you.

I think anything I can use to add to it will be worthwhile. The Pentium M was actually faster than its P4 counterpart. It combined aspects of the P3 core with the P4 arcitecture (Ive forgotten how it actually works) but it gives it a higher data throughput than a number of P4s.
Also I have a netbook that I am running F@H on that has just a Intel Atom @ 1.6 Ghz in it. Its slow yes, but Ill leave it on all the time. It will still contribute, all be it slowly.

I'm going to take my folding machines offline for a few months. I'm going to be abroad for a while and I don't want to keep them running unsupervised. The tablet I'm taking along probably won't fold much of anything...
On the bright side, when I'm back, I plan to get myself a shiny new laptop that will hopefully outfold the machine I'm currently using.
