KS takes place in 2007, the year work on the project begun.

I'll have to double check the specific section, but i'm pretty sure there was a date and day drop that set Katawa Shoujo in 2012.
...or 2005 but that seems a little unlikely.

It was on 2007 because of something with the birthday party falling on monday or something and that only happened in 2007...

No way that's right. Could you dig up a reference for that? I'm trying to find that date drop in some scripts since my current computer can't run Katawa Shuojo, but i'm having problems tracking it down.

Look, the VN never mentions a year but an event on Lillynako arc is given a date, and a day and by crossing that information with a calander is the only viable option. I've already been in a discussion like this before, can't remember where.

I kept digging. I remembered an explicit date drop happened in the prologue, and sure enough, during the encounter with Lilly and Rin after Hisao's first trip to the market, Lilly tells Rin that it's "Friday, the eighth of June."

June 8th was a Friday in both 2007 and 2012.

During Act 1?

Act 1 was released in 2009, for what it's worth.
