I'm sorry for the horrendous necro but I have to know if this was intentionally a Tommy reference.Doomish wrote:[Shizune]was a damned wizard at pinball, and Misha suspected she could rack up the scores even with her eyes closed if she felt like it.

Excellent story. I noticed a few typos here and there, but no biggie. It's been a long while since the last time anything made my heart clench and throb and have all these feels. And you did something I once thought was impossible for me: you made me like Jigoro. o_O
you know it's good when you feel something die inside of you when you reach the end

That...was depressing. It was a tearjerker, sadder than sad, morose, blue, melancholy tale.
I loved every second of it. Well done again.

Dooming, you have a terrible habit of making really dark, sad, and brilliant stories. This was a tearjerker, and I didn't have to punch a bear to regain my manhood, because I would loose it one hundred times so long as you keep writing.

Uh. Where's the story? It seems to be gone.

Kind of sad seeing as how "Braving the Storm" is one of the Fanfic Recs for Katawa Shoujo on TVTropes (most of the comments on it are praising Doomish's writing)Dippeggs wrote:The author has decided to delete all of his KS Fanfics.joethehero2 wrote:Uh. Where's the story? It seems to be gone.

To put it simply, he's decided that writing isn't something he can or should do. Additionally, he's ashamed of some, if not all, of his writings, and has thus moved to distance himself from them.
Personally, I think it's a shame that he's stopped writing, and don't agree with his decision to burn it all to the ground, but that's his decision to make.
At this point, the best course of action would be to try to find out if someone managed to preserve his works. It may be hard to find certain things, but the internet never forgets.

(this is from TVTropes)
Fanfic Recs: Katawa Shoujo
Braving the Storm by Doomish
Recommended by: Omicronus
Synopsis: Misha hates the rain. Everything from a torrential downpour to the slightest drizzle paralyzes her. Shizune eventually learns why.
Comments: A surprisingly poignant tale about Misha. Doomish's writing is powerful and excellent. It's well worth the read. Warning: contains mature content.
Pairing: Eventual Misha/Shizune
Tags: Drama, Romance, Finished, Slight Yuri, Possible Trigger Warning

Why on Earth should anyone be ashamed of their writing? Doomish, is one of the better writers on the forums. It's a sad moment that he believed he isn't good at writing.ProfAllister wrote:Additionally, he's ashamed of some, if not all, of his writings, and has thus moved to distance himself from them.

It's not that he thinks he isn't a good writer. I highly doubt Doomish believes that. I have never talked to him personally, but having read most, if not all, of his stuff, I'd be inclined to say that the... shall we say, 'dark' nature of several of his stories is something with which he does not like to be associated. It's not a healthy mindset to have, and I can vouch for that personally. Deleting his fics could be a way for Doomish to "get away" from that unhealthy mindset.Steinherz wrote:Why on Earth should anyone be ashamed of their writing? I'm not sure if there are any backups of his work, but I'd advise against asking around. If Doomish doesn't want them to be read, then let it be so. With Apologies is still on the forums, though.

One of his fics is still up, go to his profile and go the most posted topic, on second thought, don't, I skimmed the last paragraph of the last chapter and am now going to to go huddle in a croner and cry into my pillow for a while, then commit suicide, idk.
