Try putting the laptop on a pair of pedestals so that air can flow underneath as well as over it.TwilightMirage wrote:Out of curiosity, does anyone here run F@H on a MacBook Pro? And please don't get all "omg apple loser" on me.
I tried running it a few months ago, but it caused the whole laptop to get uncomfortably hot. Any ideas on how to limit it so that this doesn't happen?
Probably by doing bigadv work units with the SMP client. I haven't gotten big units up and running on my system yet, but here are copy/pasted instructions a friend sent me (you need a powerful computer):das bruce wrote: How the hell is Samophlange producing 16k points a day?
I've been running the linux SMP core since '09 and have to say it would not be a good plan to try it on a production server.Kota wrote:In case you haven't noticed, I've gotten my stuff back up, running on 2x 9800gt and 1x 5870m and 1x PS3. I also have access to a linux server with an octocore Xeon @ 3.16ghz and 32GB RAM, but afaik the Linux client is unstable...
