I'd also hit dat Chibi Rin.

My first ending was Emi's good (well, okay, the "Misha rescue" good) ending. It surprised me that I even wound up on her path at all since I'm not athletic in the slightest, but I went into the game blind and followed what I would have done, more or less. Her good ending remains second only to Hanako's as my absolute favorite.

I think the game is designed so that first time players will fall into Emi's route the most easily, as she seems the most common "first time" girl.

I think I have to agree with you as far as favorites go. I love Lilly, but I do have to confess the only reason I rate her higher than Emi is because Hanako features so prominently in her arc.

Emi's bad ending was my first ending.

It sure did.

My first ending was Emi's good ending, going in completely blind. I've only played a few routes so far, but it seems like it was a good route to start on. Had some good emotional pull without being too much of a tearjerker. I enjoyed the themes that came up, the interactions between the main characters were solid while the characters that became side characters hooked me into playing other routes, and in general it was just a good route for getting a feel for Katawa Shoujo for a casual visual novel player.

I would have ended up on Emi's route first too, but as soon as I got to the scene "An Aesthetics" or whichever is Emi's first scene of the festival day, I got as far as going into the art room and Hisao joking at her height. Then I was like... nah... I came here for Hanako. Let's go back and try for her route. So I did and off the roof I went. Upon falling off the roof, I realized my secret Spider-Man powers and webbed the side of the building, sticking to it and settling for a rather steep, but survivable, landing on the ground.

I then proceeded to march back into that building unabated, walked into that library, and won Hanako's heart.

Hanako good ending. It was hard for me to not be over-protective of her, but I went with my gut instinct and trusted Lilly's advice, because she seemed knowledgeable. I'm glad I did, as soon as I got to Yamako and spotted Hanako, I immediately lost sight of ALL of the other girls. Wouldn't give any of them the time of day except Lilly.
