Hanako's presents
Re: Hanako's presents
It's up her alley as it's fantasy. But boy, is the series dark. So many bad things happen to good people, it's not funny.
50 Shades of Grey is for Lily...

Re: Hanako's presents
I think Hanako would read books which she can escape into its fantasy world, but not fifty shades of grey....

It's hard to read. Sometimes, it's far to much for me to take, and I have to take a break for a while. Still, great story.YZQ wrote:It's up her alley as it's fantasy. But boy, is the series dark. So many bad things happen to good people, it's not funny.

And it does make sense that Lily would be the one to read Fifty Shades of grey...
Re: Hanako's presents
If Hanako likes the Starks, she'll probably flip the table come the Red Wedding.

If she likes the Phantom Tollbooth, then she's my waifu forever
Re: Hanako's presents
I Googled it and looks like the Lord of the Rings is available in Japanese. So yeah.

"The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things. But vice versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things or make them unimportant." ~ The Doctor.

They should be. Tolkien has been buried for nearly 40 years now.

Re: Hanako's presents
You're all wrong, Hanako would obviously be reading Fahrenheit 451. *coughs*
Realistically, considering she is shown as reading a lot... ~everything? I mean if you start as someone who likes, say, lighthearted fantasy, you will pretty quickly branch out into related genres, and that's a cascading effect until you hit genres you don't like (at which point you tend to return to your original genre and check up on new books there, starting over).
And if she wants to read more naughty things, she'll probably read a VN. I dunno, one with a tall blind girl in it. Or something.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

Well it certainly won't be YMK...Aeka's path would probably make her go catatonic.
Sisterhood: True Edition. Hanako epilogue I wrote. Now expanded with additional chapters.

On the note of what book she might read, I just watched Life of Pi. Was nice. I think the book'd be better, though.

Anyway, I'd totally recommend anything by J.R.R. Tolkien. I'm sure she'd love the Lord of the Rings series.

Also I wouldn't say Tolkien so much... maybe Orwell! I'm sure she'd love Animal Farm and use it to rise up against Shizune's dictatorship.
Re: Hanako's presents
Her favorite vn is The Maiden Rape Assault - Violent Semen Inferno.
I liked Watership Down, so I would recommend it to Hanako too.
