Here, in Spain, is preferential the term
castellano (castilian) to refer spanish as there are more languages in the country (catalan, galician, euskera, asturian-leon, etc).
Maybe you misunderstood it and they said
castellano, not catalan.

I tried to imagine 'Ah-nuld' saying "Wait... I'm Misha" but got Jorgen von Strangle from Fairly Oddparents instead. I'm not sure I mind since it's hilarious either way.
Also, it's Schwarzenegger. No 't'.
