There exists a speech pattern called "Neutral American English" which means you pronounce all the words exactly the way they are prescribed in the dictionary, perform no speech inflections, and speak in complete monotone. Yes, it is possible to not have an accent. We might sound like an American to a British person because we don't speak British English. That's why lots of times websites will differentiate between American English and British English. Now, if you want to try speaking without a DIALECT, however, that is impossible. And, no, contrary to what people might believe, the two are NOT the same thing.
