Oh god, the mental image of all the KS girls singing Bohemian Rhapsody (inserted into the music video) seriously just made my morning.

I can see Rin listening to IDM for some reason. Specially Aphex Twin. Maybe ambient stuff too.

You think Rin might dig Radiohead? Lotus Flower played on the radio earlier on my way home and I started to wonder.

If anything, I know she'd at least try to dance as Thom does in this video!

Lilly & Hanako: I think they would share the same basic musical tastes. Anything smooth and calming, or with a higher level of beauty. For some reason, I think they would also like artists like Pogo.
Emi: Probably into classic rock and such. I can see her listening to Live to Win or Eye of the Tiger during a run on the track.
Rin: Hard to tell. Probably some Jazz, Reggae, and some Drum & Bass. Probably anything.
Shizune: Oh ho ho, that's a laugh. You'd need to devise such an elaborate music scheme in order to get her to enjoy it. If she weren't deaf, she'd probably be into the classics.
Misha: Bubble gum pop. That is basically a given.

I could totally imagine Lilly playing the saxophone.

Shizune listens to the sound of people screaming in pain under her reins... Though she can't hear it, it's music to her ears.

Rin: Experimental hipster music, like Gang Gang Dance or Animal Collective.
Hanako: AM Pop; something soft, breezy, unoffensive.
Emi: Techno, or Top 40 stuff.
Lilly: Classical. Definitely classical.

I, for one, refuse to believe that Rin would sink to listening to hipster and/or experimental bands exclusively. That being said, I think that she would kinda, drift from song to song. not so much even artist to artist but rather listening to it sporadically and based on her mood/when she can actually access any media device. Like twice a day, maybe twice a year. Among others that I couldn't even fathom, I think The Flashbulb suits her well in her mood show mostly in Act 1.

I agree with op, although i think Hanako would be into some good orchestral and piano as well. Orchestral music can be very moving like the artists you listed without the use of words. The interest would also be encouraged by her friendship with Lilly. If i were me and not Hisao in the game i'd introduce her to some good anime OSTs.

and Shizune would love listening to.................
