Japanese is the highlight of the week. I already know 20-25 hiragana by heart, and it's only been 4 lessons. ;)
Wait till' you reach kanjis. You have about 4000 to memorize.

I studied for almost a year; you'd be surprised how much pleasure it gives once you can converse in the language :D
Kanji </3

I can imagine. :)

To pass JLPT level 2 you only need to learn the Jouyou Kanji (2136). It's the same as what you need to know when graduating from a Japanese highschool. Any more than that is for literary scholars or specialists in a particular field.

2136 kanji is easily doable in about 2 years -- it is about 3 kanji per day. If you use an srs system then it helps you remember the older ones as you learn the newer ones.

And to stay on topic, you've been playing too much KS when you try to read Iwanako's letter and you realize that either she or you (or both) need some more basic Japanese lessons :)

 Her letter can be read but it just won't make a lot of sense. I sent it to a Japanese friend of mine for translation back when I played through the third time. Can't recall any of it, just that it wasn't exactly great work. XD

Off-topic:
I read Narcissu earlier this week. Initially I was only going to read the first chapter, but then I couldn't save the game for some reason, so I read it all in one night. Next morning I has a history test. All I could think about was Narcissu. Even so, I think I managed to score a B. :)

Even more off-topic:
My (hated) history teacher is German. The second half of the questions (grade A-C) was about Nazi propaganda, even though it had nothing to do with the rest of the test. Seems legit.

And boy, oh boy, I must say to you: in the game, I really like Hanako, but when I imagine a REAL girl with purple burn scars all over half of the face, it scares me a bit.
I can envision her looking good, the only problem is I don't think scars like hers actually form.
But, you know, I always imagined the characters as their sprites presented them, only really filling in when they did things the sprites didn't. I'm going to try to imagine them sometime.

This was actually my first week playing KS, and I kept bringing up references. The problem is, none of my friends have played this game. I should get some that would be interested. So yeah, I'm probably playing too much.

Meh, burns can range in severity. I imagine she was burnt badly, but not badly enough for any serious disfigurement to occur.

You know how you know when you've played too much KS? When you haven't played the game in like two months, realize that, and play some KS.

I've 100%'ed this game twice already, and I'm working on my third. Life rules.

When you read this entire thread in one night and smile at every comment.

My favorite has got to be the one with the guy whistling parity at the checkout and one of the customers recognized it and then bromance ensues. XD

True story, I've played so much KS that when I got my new laptop, downloading KS and reaching 100 percent was a top priority. I did it in in only 2 hours. Without a guide.

That's impossible, unless you skipped most scenes.

It is very possible. I held down the skip button or had it set for auto skip the whole time except for decisions. I said I hit 100 percent, I didn't read everything. I already know what happens for each route like everybody else here.
