I just finished the game. the entire act 1. the only ending i dont have is rin's. quite frankly, i don't like her character a lot. don,t let that deter you, thought. all the other heroines were a blast. i have to say my favorite is Hanako. i can't wait to see how Hisao's feelings for her develop through the VN. Emi comes second. i always, much like our hero, had a weakness for puppy eyes. HNNNNG indeed. Shizune comes third. She's the game's tsundere. i like tsunderes and she does her job well. would have outclassed Emi if it wasn't for the confusion of her ''dialogue''. it's hard to tell when Misha is talking for her and when she is talking for herself. perhaps a change of font? anyway, i'm sure you'll get Hisao to learn sign language. i can,t really see him confessing via Misha(well, i can, but that would be way too lulzy). Finally, Rin. I just can't frame her. she reminds me of Osaka(from azu daioh) with a philosophical streak. a philosophical streak that's a little redundant. my roommate(who happens to hav a foot fetish) is, however, madly in love with the dazed gal. you've created the footmonger's ideal waifu, and that's a lot. as for me, i'm rating her low for simple dislike of the character, nothing else.
artwise, the whole VN is surprisingly well done for a doujin game. the small animation scene(with the ticking clock) is also nice, especially when you consider the funding that went into the game. my only complaint is the fact that some backgrounds look too much like pictures. a very minor point, considering i'm to busy looking at Hanako's smile or supressing my HNNNNNNGs when emi gives my The Eyes. The music is very catchy, but i hope some new tunes are introduced in act 2.
on the cameos: you people made my day. in order:
1: so that's the class. well, they do look like crip- ALL HAIL BRITANNIA
2: Kenji is the atypical 4chan user. he is also a true bro and his ending had me cracking up.
3: the many uses of chanspeak in your duialogue: facepalm, serious business, trolling, etc.
4: Panty shot propaganda. you people are geniuses.
that's all. oh, and happy new year. may 2010 see the release of act 2 of one of the most awesome VNs ever written. you guys make an old channer like me proud. keep at it!!!

Just checking to make sure you know Lilly is not Hanako's Misha. She has a path.

I think it is supposed to be confusing when Misha is talking for Shizune. It's not like Hisao would know.

I'm not new to Visual Novels, I've seen alot but what amazes me in this one which I've only discovered recently, is the fact of every character having something wrong it sorta makes me moved because it looks like it was made for us crippled, I for being one of them ( smaller leg, need to use prosthetic leg ) really am impatient to see the release of this awesome Visual Novel. Not only this but I believe it will have a deeper feeling to it and I'm sure any other disabled/crippled will love the idea of this Visual Novel, so I'm really gratefull that Four Leaf Studios are making this.

First time playing a visual novel so I don't have much to compare it to but it's definitely a sweet game, with coherent story telling too. I felt kind of let down by Hanako though, her scene was so much shorter than Rins I've only tried those 2 character paths but if Rins was the longest then maybe I'm getting a little skewed here, but it would've been nice to spend an equal amount of time with both.
As for something constructive: I like how skip mode stops skipping on new/different dialouge, but could it please be an option to have a skip mode that also skips over new stuff? Just for when I want to see a different characters path but don't want to read about how school was more tiring this time round or whatever. As an option, not to just replace the current skip mode. That'd be great, thanks.

Actually it's already an option.
You can see it in the following video, where I specifically tried to skip new content but failed... then I discovered the option.

You mean like the "Skip unread text" option in the options menu?

I enjoyed Act 1, I found it only yesterday, and I thouroughly enjoyed reading and making the occasional decision. I loved the characters! The music is also beautiful.

Awesome awesome awesome. I've played quite a bit of VNs in the past and I actually wasn't thinking this would be much. I was one of those guys who tagged "4chan" onto this title and kinda just left it at that. I'm glad to see this game is pretty well spaced away from 4chan.
All that aside, I was very surprised at how good this game was. Typically when I play a dating style visual novel, I always make a choice on what girl I want to go for based on the looks of 'em, so that's how I approached this. I started going for Hanako, she was the most physically appealing of the bunch. In the middle of my playthrough though, I started finding out that all of these characters have crazy unique personalities. I actually started gravitating more towards Rin, based just on her personality. That's never really happened before with a VN, and right then is when I realized this was a damn good VN, the best I've played to date. I wound up playing through with all the girls stories, knowing full well there'd be no hentai as a reward. That's also a first for me. I hope you guys finish this someday, just don't let it die out is all I ask, take all the time you need.

The game was fantastic. this isn't my first VN at all. I seen good and bad ones but this one is most definitely good.
I'm totally looking forward the full game. hope it'll take a lot of time to finish.
The art is great. All characters look nice, have lots of expressions. The background is so realistic, looks like a high class painting. it's brilliant. My first was Emi, she's pretty cute tough I like all characters equally a lot.
Characters are all cool. their personalities are well made and I'm looking forward to know more about them in the future.
Good luck on making the next acts!
I'll be one of the first to download it as soon as it releases.
EDIT: actually I hope it'll turn out to be a non- hentai game. Hentais just seem pretty obvious and non- henatis are way less predictable and interesting

Well, I read the Act 1... and hell, I must say that I am suprised. I've "discovered" Katawa Shoujo just recently, purely by accident (Clever pool on Danbooru, Venus Rin picture)and at first, I was expecting some sick 4chan style humour. I was mistaken, hell. I am not new to visual novels, but this is one of the better ones I had a chance to have on my HDD. I downloaded the demo out of pure curiosity, half of me expecting some epic lulz - nope. Entire disability subject is taken suprisingly serious, the story is quite original, not so simple and interesting. The main cast is well done, too - except for Misha. Annoying. Other girls though are interesting, especially Rin. I don't know who's idea was to give her such a personality, but that was a great decision. The art is fine, I can't complain about anything, and the music is quite beautiful. Tracks known as "Parity", "Air Original" and "Ah Eh I Oh You" don't wanna leave me alone...
I'm glad that you guys took this thing the way you did, for several reasons. One, you clear the Internet's name a bit - we're not just sick perverts :O other reason... I can pretty much identify myself with this topic, I'll be blind before 2013. I'm also amazed how some people can unite and start doing things based on pretty much nothing, a single idea that's not even complete. And make something great out of it.
Anyway, I'm talking too much. Keep up the good work, and take your time. As long as it's released while I can still read, I'm fine with the release date. I'm really looking forward to following chapters of this story.
PS: On the main website, "Can you face your fears?" is a nasty pun, right there

um, no - the devs have confirmed that h-scenes are go. they've also confirmed that they're going to keep up their AWESOME standards of quality and character, even when people start having sex. but think about it, man. with all they've done so far to make you (and me, and hundreds of other people) love the characters and the game, do you really think they're going to screw it up because people start screwing?
me neither.

But then by that definition it's not really a hentai game now is it? Heck I see something like Fate/stay night the same way. It's like calling your Hollywood action blockbuster a porn flick for having a sex scene.
