It's like ok smoking is "destroying" yourself, but then you hear about Tanaka's (I think that was his name?) suicide and you wonder if she meant it more literally lol
"Lol"? Okay...

I assumed she was being metaphorical.

She was being metaphorical. The smoking was just a means to enable that destruction by edging out of her comfort zone. But a literal destruction is what awaits her post-bad end.

She's trying to literally change herself into the sort of artist and person that people expect her to be. She probably picked up the smoking thing in imitation of Sae, whose about as enveloped in the art world as one gets. As well as a stress reliever in general.

Yeah but you can't really be sure what Rin means. Also I use "lol" as periods on the internet cuz it seems to effectively denote the end of a thought lol

I usually use faces :D :) 8) when I actually think something is funny lol.... It's a habit lol... it annoys me sometimes... lol

Apparently it wasn't effective given that you had to explain it.

Try a period like...Well, everyone else in all of existence. :P

Why can't people just accept a person for who they are? Jeez, I cannot stand that...

[/rhetorical question]

@Jobriq: Well, I can't say it doesn't annoy me, but... do what you want. I can't tell you what and what not to do.

On a different sort of on topic note, I thought it was weird how Rin's path had Emi's track meet the way it did. I guess it's necessary for the timeline since she's there in Emi's path, but It seemed very Emi-centric considering it wasn't in Emi's path. The dialogue has small changes and Hisao doesn't notice Emi limping at the end of the final race (it seemed like Rin didn't either).

Also I like how in Rin's path the rain started before they got to the park for the picnic thing. Apparently they walk faster in Emi's path (probly cuz Hisao exercises?)

I thought it was strange to throw Emi's track meet in Rin's route as well. They could've at least changed it up a bit.

And yes, that was a nice little detail thrown in.

Yes, it was very strange of them to include something happening in Rin and Hisao's lives that...Happened in their lives. :P

Things wouldn't have happened in the EXACT same way. It was a carbon copy of what happened in Emi's route. Things would have been at least a little different. Y'know, a butterfly effect sort of deal.

Well, Rin acted the usual old way in both versions, so I don't think there's any difference anyway.

Why? There was nothing present that would change it.

I don't know. I'll have to do her path again.

If it were somebody other than Rin, it might change. But Rin doesn't see hanging out with Hisao as reason to change anything, so they just go watch the meet as usual. If it were Lilly, they might sneak off to fuck in the tea room but, alas...

Very true.

And I really wish a Lilly scene like that actually existed... I guess that's what fan art is for.

Well... In Emi's path when Meiko said something along the lines of "I thought you were getting a snack, not a boy," Rin says "I wondered what I was doing..."

But in Rin's path she says "Is this no good?"
