Katawa Shoujo Forums

I was in the middle of my 3-day marathon of playing all 5 routes in KS when I took a break and did some surfing. I happened to find the download page still open, and followed the forum link for giggles.

Like some of the others, I downloaded Act 1 a couple of years ago after reading the review on PlayThisThing. I loved it, and checked back in impatiently every couple of months to see how the game was progressing.

At least, that was the plan.

After checking the blog last May, I learned to my astonishment that, not only was the game finished, it had been finished for four and a half months. I still have no idea how I missed it. I must have last checked the blog in November or something, just before the big announcement.

Anyway, I downloaded the game and played through Act 1, getting Lilly without having any particular girl in mind.

Before I could continue playing, I had a ten-day holiday booked, got back at the start of June and basically locked myself inside for a week until I got 100%. Then I created a profile (my first new phpBB profile in about 8 years) and started posting.

'sabout it, really.

I think i was checking out KS things online (After finishing Hanako's route if memory doesn't fail me) When a link to a fanfic (Taxi ride to nowhere) led me here. When i finished reading i noticed the place was a forum and began checking it out. A few months later, i joined.

But any ways I was watching Chilled Chaos' play through of Katawa Shoujo and wanted it.
So I got it.

Then I wanted more info and went here.

Little did I know, forums are a clusterfuck.

I love clusterfucks.

So I made an account and here I am.

I found myself here after JesuOtaku played JewWario's review of this game on a stream a few weeks ago. Watching the review and seeing the reactions and comments in the chat made me really interested so I decided to download it and give it a shot. I do NOT regret that decision at all

I discovered the forums shortly after completing the game, more or less. A friend recommended it to me, and I must say, I was hesitant at first, similar to many others. "Cripple porn, really dude?" "Just try it."

And so I did. It turned out to be one of the most meaningful games I've ever played. I needed more. I needed confirmation that other people felt the same way. I proceeded to Google a little, and naturally, I found these forums as well as r/KatawaShoujo.

I lurked the forums for quite some time before deciding it was time to sign up, which was yesterday.

Out of plain boredom I was checking up on one of those 4chan smartasses on his Youtube channel. He's sometimes funny and sometimes he just tries too hard at being snarky and edgy about ridiculing a place that he still seems to regularly visit, even though it's obviously such total shit...yeah...right.

Anyway, he made a vid about KS a few months after its full version came out this year. Probably wanted it to turn out far more snarkier than the way it actually turned out to me - as full of genuine awe.

Got me looking, saw there was a site, saw it was a free download...after 5 years of hard labor? Now this I gotta see...

Ah yes to add to my story to I have arrythmia so I thought it would be interesting to see how Hisao copes with his life.

Saw a thread about KS on /v/ last year, downloaded the demo, played it, got a waifu. Didn't really start browsing these forums until the end of the year, though.

Guess I have to add names to the list of amazing people I found here...

After completing all of KS I was really interested about the creation of it so I went on the website and found the forums.

If this question is about how I got into KS then that's because of my friend who hates it and told me not to play it not matter what.

Also how I learned of this VN- and the VN genre, really- and the forum came about from reading recommended fanficiton on TVTropes.org.
