I guess it's because they talk a lot of the horrible past and trying to run from it rather than trying to accept it and move on, If that makes any sense, most of the lyrics fit nicely I thought.

Really? I have yet to play through Emis path...... Although, from what I understand about Emis path I guess this does make some sense.
Oh and I would change the one I would associate with Hanako to be the song you linked elsewhere - "Iris"
