I have become most attached to Rin because I see a lot of her in myself. Thinking back to high school and before, which in my case is a very long time ago, I can imagine that some of the people who attempted to interact with me wandered away perplexed and avoided me thereafter. I was, at the time, rather antisocial, so I didn't mind, but there was probably a degree of loneliness deep within me that I tried to ignore. Rin's story reminded me that one can be downright weird and socially isolated but still feel a strong need to be understood, and I wonder if I should have tried to be less closed to others back then. Nowadays, I can relate to other people and socialize without a problem, adjusting my conversation style and vocabulary to their needs, but occasionally I get in the mood to spout off incomprehensible intellectual gibberish or get into debates that have no win or lose conditions, and my unfortunate conversation partner eventually wanders away wondering what just happened. (I recently did this to a guy in a bar whose ego I wanted to knock down a few notches. It was more entertaining for me than simply saying, "get lost," and it worked like a charm.) Like Rin, I'm an artistic type, but my art is writing, so unlike her, I don't have so much trouble expressing my ideas in words, but that doesn't necessarily mean that my words will be intelligible to others.

Aside from Rin, I probably feel closest to Hanako, and this definitely goes back to childhood. Much like her, I was extremely shy and antisocial, and the mere act of talking to someone could be psychologically painful. Thankfully, this is no longer much of a problem for me, but it still rears its ugly head on occasion. I can understand her irritation at the "white knight" attitude of those who feel a need to protect her. Again thinking back to childhood, I didn't need protection as such. I needed to socialize on my own terms, which sometimes meant being left alone, and I needed to be treated as an equal and not as some poor defenseless waif. My impression of Hanako's story is that she has similar feelings.

I also like Kenji, probably because he is so crazy. I seek out people like that because they are seldom dull even if they can be irritating. Like Rin, I collect people, but I only collect people who have a few screws loose. If I were in that school, I would want to be his friend, but I know he wouldn't have anything to do with me because I'm part of the insidious feminist invasion.

As for the other main characters, I like Emi but don't identify so strongly with her because she is too cheerful and athletic, while I am morose and lazy. I could handle having someone like her as a friend, but I could only take her in low doses. I also like Lilly and might get to like her more as I make my way through her story. Shizune and Misha remind me of people who rubbed me the wrong way when I was in high school, and so far it is hard for me to like them, but perhaps when I go through Shizune's story I will find more complexity and come to like them better. Finally, Hisao is something of an empty slate, so it is hard for me to feel really close to him, but he works well as a protagonist because he can adapt his characteristics to each story line. (Maybe I would like him better if he really did have something wrong in his pants.)

I got somehow very attached to Emi, which is odd, because she was probably the character I was least interested in back in Act 1 only days. Somehow, her issues and determination melted my heart and filled me with the feels. Meanwhile Shizune, my favorite character from Act 1, had the path I found least interesting, probably due to the vagueness of her wants and desires and her apparent inability to express them, even in the "good" ending.

Emi, on the other hand, made me root for her, and go through all the emotions that Hisao probably would have experienced if, you know, everyone of these characters was real. I wanted to help her when she didn't need it, and I pushed too hard... it just somehow connected with me.

Shizune wants to make others happy. It's not so much vague as explicitly stated by her. :P

In typical fashion, she knows what she wants, but doesn't know how to get to it.

I think that's mostly it. I'm not entirely sure what she does want at the end. I'm maybe just dense, though. I've played through her route quite a few times. I was disappointed in it, but that's mostly because it did not meet my expectations based upon Act 1. It was a very well-written route. I grew more attached to poor Misha, though. :P

I'd cast my vote for dense. :P And just how attached to Misha did you get? Attaching to her too much can have a really depressing result...

She's a compelling character, what can I say? I can grow attatched to certain characters even without pervy thoughts. :?

Out of all the 5 girls, I found myself most attached to Rin. I liked her arc the most, and I also liked her personality the most. I can relate to Rin in a way, I'm not all that good at communicating with people, and am often quiet. I kind of have a weird way of thinking, and often thinking extravagantly, and can easily drift off into a space.
Not sure who would this relate to, either Lilly, Rin, or Shizune, but I have this obsessiveness about me. When it's something I like, I get addicted to it, and I really work for it. Like say, I'm studying the Japanese Language. Once I set my eyes on it, I immediately became addicted to it and learned everything I could about it and would not stop. I also become aggressive with it. Whatever thing I get into, I put my all into it. I can basically do anything. However, if my motivation starts to slip, it kind of falls off, and I work less hard. However, even though my want starts slipping, it never goes away. And if I become motivated once more, I put my all back into it. Only way I can stop being addicted to it is if I work to not get addicted to whatever it is. Otherwise It'll never go away. I have a real hate for conflict, try to avoid it anyway possible, unless it's unavoidable. I have much more I could say, but I don't think I need to do that.

Hello and welcome, Shizune.

Hello and welcome, Shizune.
Hm, I guess that does sound like Shizune. Besides when it comes to things I want, I'm usually relaxed and laid back. And people often call me a boring person because I don't do anything "exciting". (My thinking: Normal people are boring. And normal people find doing nothing boring, so doesn't that mean doing nothing is actually more interesting then doing stuff normal people do? [I had it worded better in my head, and it sounded better.] ) Well actually, it's easier for me to describe myself in my head then it is typing it out... I can't exactly explain it so well. What do?
But anyway, I found myself being attached to Rin the most.

Rin is more a fembro to me, don't like her sexually but platonically.

And the girls robin refers too want babies but not the hassle of a husband. Or use the hormonal changes of pregnancy to make themselves prettier then weather the horror of an abortion clinic.

Well thats kinda a dark way of putting it, but I have a solution! Adopt! Save all of the Hanakos living in orphanages.
