Best wishes that your surgery goes well. And now you're making me feel bad for my chapter being up first...Leaty wrote:Well, I'm getting a kinda serious surgery done on Monday, so I'm really hoping I can at least get the stories to my betas before that happens. Otherwise, it'll be about two weeks at the earliest before I can publish the story, which would suck, because I'm almost done (I just have to write the last scene I had planned out, and we're golden.)
Yep, that definitely qualifies for mammoth-ness. Makes my new high of 8,300 look paltry. It's also looking like this is going to be the most mammoth update ever, since we're up to 11,000 words and I'm not even on the last scene. It could ultimately wind up being something like 18,000, but I don't think much more than that.
Right...ISTR you mentioning that before. Any particular reason you're releasing them all at once, or is it just that they're all going to be ready at the same time? I'm thinking the latter.Leaty wrote:Keep in mind this is a large update, not a large chapter. There's, I think, five new scenes in total here (bringing the total number of published scenes up to seventeen, since Testing the Waters is inappropriately in chapter format instead of scene format,) and at least one of them is more of an epilogue to Safe Reboot than its own scene, at a meager 900 words.dewelar wrote:Yep, that definitely qualifies for mammoth-ness. This is something I could never do: making significant changes mid-story. If and when I do that for Developments, it'll be after the whole thing is done.Cardioblivion is still the longest chapter, at 8,212 words, and I don't know if that will change before the end of Act One.
Don't start me thinking like bhtooefr, now...*shivers*Also, I'm not really expecting anything with the surgery to go wrong, but in the event of my death, somebody else can finish the story, I guess.
All the best, and I doubt just anybody else can do it justice. So I'm rooting for 'you won't be finished but the story will'.Leaty wrote:Also, I'm not really expecting anything with the surgery to go wrong, but in the event of my death, somebody else can finish the story, I guess.
Man, you are really doing your research on this chapter.Leaty wrote:Well, I'm getting a kinda serious surgery done on Monday....
Well, if you die, let us know.Leaty wrote:Also, I'm not really expecting anything with the surgery to go wrong, but in the event of my death, somebody else can finish the story, I guess.
