I'd recommend Lilly's next. If someone's favorite route isn't Rin's, it's usually Lilly's.

Personally, while I found Rin's to be the most emotional overall, a certain scene in Lilly's route (I'll spare you the spoilers, but I'm sure everyone else knows what I mean) was the single most emotional moment in the game for me.

First, there is no rush. Let it simmer and enjoy the feels. When they start to wear off, then move on to another arc.

FWIW I'd avoid Emi's arc right away because it has the most Rin in it. That can be hard to deal with. Shizune (and her arc) is kind of the anti-Rin -- that might be a good one to try next.

You get this feeling every time you move your cursor over the shortcut for Katawa Shoujo, everything you've done and all you gone through hits you just from that. When you click and it opens to the title screen with that music, it hits you harder. Trust me, do more playthroughs you won't regret it. Hard to explain the feeling but you'll know when it hits you lol.

Rin's route is my favorite, so i might be biased. I would say Hanako's route comes closest in terms of general feels inducing. Emi's is dramatic, Lilly's is heartwarming, and Shizune... Well it has Misha.

If you can't 360 noscope, keep playing until you do.

And third.

And then the rest

Every girl's story, every path you take has its own definition of "heart wrenching". Some are fast paced and the feels punch you in the gut rapid fire. Others are slow and methodical, lulling you into a false sense of security with their slow flowing atmosphere, before the feels hit you like a freight train. You'll see what I'm talking about when you play the other arcs.

But trust me. All of them are worth it in their own way.
Don't compare them to one another and just enjoy them individually. Best protip I can give.

Indeed, and unfortunatly these forums can be a troll magnet due to the nature of the game. Luckily there is an ignore feature available that blocks out all posts made by them. It makes visiting a lot more pleasant

And yes, a better summary is:
Emi: "Can you stand up for yourself?"
Hanako: "Can you face your fears?"
Lilly: "Can you see what I see?"
Rin: "Can you seize the day?"
Shizune: "Can you tell me what you think?"

I'm playing Emi's route right now, and I've got to say that it feels like one of the most polarizing paths. This is my fourth playthrough (Rin to Shizune to Hanako), and what surprises me most is just how emotive Emi is compared to the rest. Except when speaking of her father, she is generally very forward with all of her actions. Out of all the girls, she definitely seems to be the best at expressing herself.

I guess Rin's path would be my "favorite" since it's the one I can relate to most, but I feel bad calling any path a favorite. So far they have all been well written and have had a lot of laughs coupled with tension. Still, it's really hard to put the game down. I have things to do, but I just want to keep reading...

I hear ya. I'm actually afraid to start the game up now to play the other routes (only played Emi's as of now). I hate stopping in the middle of a scene and half-assedly reading the rest of the scene in a hurry would ruin the game's beauty for me, so not an option either.

Guess I'll start doing some homework and hopefully play by the end of the week.
