That was the bad ending. I just didn't want people to know that going in. I'll change that later, once we start on the other branch.

Now I feel bad. Really bad.

I also just realized I completely misunderstood that final portion the first time I read it. Now that I reread it, I see what just happened.

Dammit, Lunch.

That's also a way to avoid resolving a conflict

You know while I was reading that chapter I was getting the ffeling that I was in a greek tragedy. You know the kind, where everything could turn out right, but all the character insist on taking the single course of action that will steer the story towards the bad end.
At the beginning of the chapter I could predict every one of Hisao's lines by asking myself "What should he say in order to increase Suzu's anxieties about his White Knighting, and it goes on from there all through the fighting with Lezard.
The only character who tries to avoid a bad end here is Miki, but she's sorely outnumbered...

Just to make it clear, I don't have anything against a bad end.
What I dislike are unneccessary bad ends; bad ends that could have been avoided half a dozen times, if any number of characters hadn't taken the exact course of action they did. Those feel artificial and construed to me.

EDIT:
I kinda forgot you had a branch in there, so ignore the first line of this post ^_^

I think I'll file this one under a "Neutral" end

a "Bad" end is where Hisao and Suzu break up and/or hate each other

I'm sorry, but that makes absolutely no sense.

Hisao nearly died of a fucking heart attack, and Suzu just killed herself. Not to mention, she literally said herself 'I wish I had never met you'.

How is that not a bad ending?

Because she wasn't pregnant with his child :3

If something like this happens in your story, I will be absolutely perma-depressed.

Well that was.... So damn depressing! I think I might cry. Maybe. I had a feeling something like this was going to happen, but now the bad end is out of the way I will mot have to cry again. Maybe.

That chapter is just about the cure for Type II Diabetes. :\ Thank you for saving the good end for last, though. Always want the bad news first!

Wow. I think that has been my favorite bad end ever. Most others just leave me thinking "Hisao, you idiot" but this one actually made my eyes get all watery.

P.S. Mirage, that's kind of the point of the bad end. The characters make all the wrong choices. Therefore giving you the worst possible outcome. The good end is them making all of the right choices, or at least enough of them to get a satisfactory ending.
