Do you still visit /a/?

Is their reaction to the game pretty much as you expected? Is there anything in the game that you're surprised hasn't been picked up on and spoken about more or anything that you're surprised has been given a lot of attention?

Back with some more questions:

1) Earlier in time you devs mentioned that KS at one point had rape scenes. What ultimately resulted in those scenes getting deleted? Too controversial perhaps?

2) I guess it's safe to assume that rape would've always resulted to a bad end?

3) What really happened to Miki's left hand? Did you have any popular ideas for this? I don't remember the game explaining this.

Nothing really all that substantial, but just a question for the Writers:

How do you write so well at computers ;c;...

My inspirations are really impulsive and can only really write when sitting somewhere..scribble on a pad with half-legible writing.

Just asking..

what made you decide to revamp the OP music (wiosna)? Personally I think the old was better than the current.

Any thoughts from any of the path writers on some of the deconstruction/motives/character analysis/etc of their story?

1. After I read through Act 1 last year, curiosity led me to tracke down the leaked Grid1. What I find most interesting about that is the dramatic improvement between this and the final release (at least in writing, since I don't think there were reused art assets and original music in there). What I'm interested in is if any of the devs are now considering to make a carreer out of the skills they demonstrated here.

2. I've seen several references to the fact that the engine was customised for KS, but I never found any details. The programmer in me is naturally (well, maybe unnaturally) curious about what customisations were specifically needed for KS. Can you provide some details?

I've read a few /a/ threads after the release, mainly the stickies and some Rin threads other people linked me. We did not expect the strong emotional response at all, it was very surprising.

1-2. The entire Hanako path was rewritten from scratch. I'm pretty sure that scene was a part of a bad end, something like 95%.
3. There's no "canon" story unless suriko has fantasized one up. Maybe a giant alligator ate it.

Way too open ended question to answer.

1. Some of the artists might pursue art-related careers.
2. Play a game made with stock Ren'Py engine. Then play KS. See if you notice any difference. A lot of stuff KS does is simply not possible on the stock engine.

First, I would like to thank the creators for their hard work, although that is probably implied by now.

I have a few questions to ask, some trivial, some actually good.

1. To Suriko/Crud: What made you pic the books Hisao and Hanako (and Lilly at one point) were reading, was it just random or were they books you liked (also kudos to Dune reference, really my favorite novel).

2. To Hivemind/anyone who knows the answer: Emi's anal scene in the shed has to be one of the funniest things I've ever read. Was it your intention for this to be so funny, and why did you choose this specifically?

3. Everyone: I know about the license you have, but what about Doujins in Japan (if it becomes that popular)?

4. To A22: What was it you specifically disliked about Shizune's character? I believe you mentioned it a blog before, and said she felt "antagonistic".

5. Everyone (this has probably been answered, if it was, ignore it): Looking back in hindsight, what could you wish you could have done better?

6. Why was the nurse never given a name?

These are all the questions I have for now. Again thank you for your hard work in making this game.

Continuing this question: was the hilarious, *surprised* face intended to be as hilarious as most find it?

I've cleared this up before, and even if someone has already answered this, I would like to do so again.

There was a scene where Hanako was heavily medicated. During the course of the scene she asked HIsao to take advantage of her, which he did. This, of course, was a bad end.

I'm not entirely sure why it was in there. Originally there weren't many H-scenes in the Hanako path (IIRC none in the "Good" path), and so there was a bit of pressure to put more into the story. This was just one place that fit with the narrative, although once I posted it the other devs (wisely) pointed out that it was akin to rape.

So yes, there was the equivalent of a date-rape scene in the original draft, but it was included more to boost the H-scene count rather than any desire to satisfy the sickos that want to see rape in their porn.

Not entirely books that I am a great fan of, but books that I had read recently that piqued my interest enough.

Life of Pi was a bit of an added bonus; because it dealt with a boy with dead parents drifting alone (well, mostly alone) in a raft. It felt very Hanako-esque.
