JUST a disccusion on what KS merchendise you would've liked

It's pretty darn difficult It would be nice though.

i was imagining it than for a blind person, someone would read it to them (idk that's just how i imagine it, maybe it's stupid) and well to a deaf person idk, it's like reading a book in the park (minus the nature sounds) and with images and some animations the game is ok as it is, just take out the H scene for those who don't really need that part, and if they do they can get the original for free

And those people have every right to use the censor option, just as they have every right to close their eyes during that one nude scene in Titanic.

If you just tore out the scenes entirely, you'd be tearing out integral elements of every route (Hanako's scene which develops her fear and insecurity while directly setting up the final scene of her good end, Emi's scenes which establish her use of lust to deflect real attachment, Rin's first scene which reveals her inner turmoil and desperation for relief, Lilly's blindfold scene which establishes Hisao's hatred of receiving pity, and the pivotal scene that determines which end will be had in Shizune's route) while scenes before and after that refer to the excised parts would be rendered nonsensical. To have a fully "clean" (because sex is dirty, right? - RIGHT?!) version would either butcher it or require new writing to work around the gaps created. And that's just pointlessly tampering with the intended story.

a thought just came to me, and even if it's doesnt necesarily qualify as merchandise i think it would be cool.

a clean version of katawa shoujo without the H-scenes, for the disabled people so they can get more motivation and not feel useless for losing limbs, other disabilities or stuff like that. it's nothing fancy or hard to do i think, but wouldn't it be a nice thing for the disabled people?

You know there is an option to disable H-scenes. Have you ever gone in the options? Why do you hate sex so much anyway?
You cant really make a VN into an audio book. It wouldn't make sense whatsoever. The blind person wouldn't know what expression the characters are making, where they are and a multitude of other things. You would have to explain everything that happens in the scenes to them yourself or transcribe KS into a novel (which isn't allowed) and than make that into an audio book (which probably isn't allowed either). With clever usage of technology you could make the gameplay the same as KS with an audio book (as in still having the option of choosing which route to go down).
The music in KS is a key part of KS. You could mute it but it would mean you are missing out a big part of KS. For example when Hanako got a panic attack the music really helped to build up the tension and give off a bad feeling. That scene would be very different without the music.. To replace the music you would probably have to write more stuff to build up whatever feeling there may have been in a certain scene with the music. Not easy.

It's just not possible. The devs would have to spend so much time just to do this. I think they have done enough already.

KS merchandise I would like would be a KS phone cover. The heart logo itself would be good enough for me. Although I would be overjoyed with a Rin or Shizune one.

i don't hate sex, but in my mind i doubt some disabled people under 16 or above idk 30, would enjoy cartoon sex...why is that so hard to understand?...because most teenagers are so ok with sex in any form doesn't mean everyone enjoys sex in all its forms...and yes i checked the options but forgot about the disable adult content

plus it's just an idea, and i kinda find it possible to make it, yes for some disabled it will have limitations but i think for them, the idea of not giving up despite having a disability is the more important message

You have to be a pretty immature 30+ year old if you cannot get over sex scenes in a romance novel/VN. There aren't many romance novels that do not have sex scenes in them. Sex can represent a lot of things and can really help the advance of the story. In shizune's bad route, in Hanako's route, Rin's route, Lilly's route and emi's route sex is pretty important and moves the story forward. Although less so with Lilly's and Emi's route (aside from the last sex scene with Emi)

Would they enjoy falling off a roof and dying? Would they enjoy bringing a friend to rage and tears? Probably not. But these things are in there anyway. And half those scenes aren't supposed to be enjoyable so...Yeah.

If they can't enjoy what the devs created, they are in no way entitled to a mutilated version made just for them.

KS is the sum of its parts. Music, visuals, story, characters, all of it. Not just a message. Removing any one piece, which would be inevitable if seeking to cater to various disabilities, mutilates the whole. A mutilated version of KS is not KS. If they just want an inspiring message with most of the substance removed, they can put Facebook posts on audio or read an against-all-odds news story. KS is more than a message. To reduce it to such is an insult to the work that went into it.
