At some point I mean to go to the Hanako's Broken Hearts Club thread and post about my unrequited love deal. I haven't wanted to dwell on it, so I've been putting it off - I usually end up being depressed for a week or two when I think about it too deeply - but posts like these have made me want to share. For the time being, Mercutio and ArazelEternal, I'll just say that I totally sympathize with both your plights. Like the sig says,

All right, I'm done threadjacking.
:brofist: Yeah, I mean some users even said this works even better than therapists or talking to your relatives. It's true at some point coz for one, you don't have to worry about spilling any screts or get embarrassed about something. (Coz if you talk abt this game to your orther friends they'll prolly insult you that yer gay or somethin')

Amazing how 1 very simple game brought us all here together. lol.
Just goes to show that simple can also be fracking incredible. The game was written so sincerely with such deep emotion, and thats why it hits so hard. Some parts are heart warming. Some are like a kick in the soul, as has been said.

Lilly and Hanako's good endings both made me break down. With Hanako I felt like a monster for shit I didn't even know I was doing to her. To see it all come pouring out like that was just too much for me to handle, and them making up was beautiful. With Lilly I didn't want her to go. I was actually in tears when Hisao was racing to the airport because I didn't want her to leave. I wanted her to be happy and I wanted her in my life. I couldn't even believe myself. Why the fuck am I crying over a fictional anime girl leaving me? Because it drew me in so much. Lilly is a great character and her path was far and away the absolute best, and this is coming from a Hanako fan. The bad endings never really got to me. They just made me feel bad.

I must admited, Hanko's neutral ending hit me the most, because it was my first ending and i've been doing well until that dammed question: trust in Lily or in your own....I almost hit the screen when I see what happen, I realy wanna punch Hisao, right in his the face, it was his last thought that anger me the most "this is how our relationship has always been, and always will be so" I really get mad after that, I just can't leave the things like that so, I MUST to get her good ending, of course I did and then I feel like a kid in a candy bar, hehehe, and how could I forget Emi's bad ending.....that was awful, I realy feel bad...I feel like a sexual object damn little girl, the others have a little effect because I got the flowcharts to complette the endings, well Hanako's bad ending make me feel awful too, because I did the opposite of what I had done before and in the end the feeling just gets worse...i realy wanted to say..please forgive Hanako, I don't think that of you..

Basically i confessed to a girl i had had a crush on for the longest time, she was excited and seemed to want to try and date, but everytime i asked to hang out she kind of blew me off, when i got to the Rin ending i was overloaded with feels, and that was around the time she told me she was pregnant and got back with her old boyfriend, kind of broke contact after that.....in combination with Rin's ending not exactly the best feeling ever....V_V
But i got over it though, just decided to not focus on it anymore and for the most part successfully moved on. Like i sad not sure if that counts due to most of the hurt being outside the game, but i think it impacted it.
Yeah, I still think that counts. Though, isn't Rin's good ending should've made you a little happier? (I can imagine you getting sadder with her neutral ending more.)
Actually now that i read it back i should have said her route in general didn't mix well with what was going on. If i remember correctly the ending may have actually pushed me a bit out of that slump i was in.

@ArazelEternal: yep, a real hard kick in the soul indeed. I kept thinking abt Rin's neutral ending every morning for a whole week trying to understand what happened and just feel kinda sad. Glad it didn't effect me enough that it ruined my sanity. wahahaha~
@axelownz: that's good to hear. A game that helps you ease the pain. wahahaha~
Just like Rin, just be yourself and everything will be fine.

I think the most hurt is Rin's bad ending and Hanako's bad ending. I think they got some misunderstood about their life.

For me, it was some of the good endings that hurt the most. I never got Hanako's bad ending, but saw it online and read about it. I don't think I could've gone through reading the story and then dealing with that. That's the one frustration I've had with Hisao, is that in some of the story lines he says the things I would've probably said. But then other times, i'm screaming at the monitor "You IDIOT!! Tell her how you feel you sonofabitch! Don't just keep staying silent! LIke in Lilly's Good Ending
When he sits in the tea house and doesn't even bother to argue with her about trying to shoulder all of the burden herself. Plus all of the times when he says, I should say something, but I think better of it. Always made me want to reach into the screen and after slapping Hisao across the head, hold Lilly close and tell her that I'm here for her. That she can confide in me instead of keeping that damn protective facade up. I started bawling my eyes out when
she left and Hisao finally stops and thinks about how he handled things, finally realizing that he used Lilly as a crutch and not supported her as a boyfriend. When he chased her down at the airport, my heart was pounding too hoping that he'd catch her. Then when that damn heart gave out, I yelled and started crying again. I thought that maybe I had actually gotten a bad ending. Then, the roller coaster finally goes up again when after being in the hospital for about three days and the music box starts to quietly play, I finally heard it about when Hisao says he heard it. Never cried so hard when Lilly came through the door. It got me so much because I saw myself in the story as Hisao. Changing some of the dialog slightly to fit my speech more, but the same context.
I felt myself crawling on the ground, screaming her name in my mind. Powerful stuff when it makes you feel so weak and helpless, yet realizing how much love that you actually possess.
Hanako's ending finally punched me in the stomach when
they were at the fountain and she tells him why she slept with him, I almost felt sick feeling like I'd almost raped her as (Hisao points out) she is submissive at best. But when she says it was to get him to stop seeing her as needing protection, but a woman with needs and desires... tear city
Emi's was the first good ending I got, and it hurt me more because of the
relationship she had with her father. I'm a husband and father of two, so to see her father's relationship having that impact on her life, even after his death just killed me. The other hard part was when seeing her bad ending, I had dated a girl like her in high-school and one day she just decided to end it. No warning, no explanation, she just came back from a trip with her friends and then tells me, "I need some time to think about us". I didn't handle it very well as she had taught me how to truly love and kiss. Yet now she was telling me she needed space. She ended it saying I needed to leave her alone. I was very near suicidal after that. Damn feels.

::brofist:: It's scary how a visual novel like this is pulling men together like this, but in a damn good way. I wish there were more VNs like this that challenge us to face our pasts and feelings and come out stronger and more passionate. I'm starting to jog now every other day and power walk in-between, eating healthier and have a new drive to create music and art again. I couldn't thank 4LS enough for this VN.

Awesome dood. So nice that Emi's route made you feel better. And also awesome that you got through it and didn't commit suicide. What don't kill you makes you stronger afterall!

I swear to God, man. I think while she may be my absolute most hated character in this game, her story had the biggest impact on me for pretty much the same reason.

KS is Twilight for men.
It does target far more specific moisture dispensers though.

It's the KS effect, tons of people start playing it to see what some dudes that met in 4chan came up with, and once they get to Act 2, everything changes like "wow, I came looking for weird cripple stuff and this is just awesome..." "omg I fucking love Hanako and Lilly..." "....shame on me, fuck the cripple porn, I totally know that feel Misha...." "Don't fucking cry, Don't fucking cry, Hanako is a strong girl...." and such.
Gentlemen, this VN is sure one hell of a ride, changed me and my habits and I ain't gonna regret it. Hanako's ending helped a lot, as well as Emi's

lol, I can totally relate to that. Who would've thought I would actually have the will to start jogging again. I mean, sure I tried a few times before in my life. But I never lasted this long coz I'm too lazy to do so.
@Total Destruction: You hated Emi? That's a surprise. I thought she was the kindest girl in the game. Then again, that's only my opinion so it don't matter.
(Annoying coz of forcing health diet, but I still liked her the most.

In all of the bad endings, I couldn't believe how hard Hisao kept pressing issues. I guess it was to be expected since he had to royally screw things up, but man. I was practically yelling at my computer for him to shut up!
On topic, Lilly was the first arc I played and the one that gave me the "feels". I cried manly tears during her story and hers was the only arc to give me legitimate, tear-and-laughter-bringing-feels. When she decided she was going to move back to Scotland my jaw hit the floor. Also, rarely have I felt more emotion than watching her slowly walk away as Hisao had his heart attack during the good ending.

Hanako's bad ending was by far the most impactful, but out of all the endings the one that hurt the most, was without a doubt, the neutral Rin ending.
Hisao will have to live his entire life knowing he made her give up on any kind of intimacy.

I really liked her myself, but she was without a doubt the biggest hypocrite in the game, other than Hisao of course.
