So, you're asking a Lilly fan to point out Lilly's flaws. Shizune taught you well, it appears you're developing sadistic tendencies.

Happy now?
lol okay sorry if having an opinion you don't share offends you!!!!
-What you said got pretty convoluted when you added your aside, but I think what you meant is that she prefers people being honest with her and being honest in return? That sounds more like a saintly trait than a flaw, except she's a hypocrite when it comes to honesty because while she expects it from Hisao, she isn't really honest with him.
-Fair, but not really something I can relate to. I don't see the point in acting like something's okay when it's not, and again, that seems more like lying to me than being honest. It's been a while since I played Lilly's route but as I recall it was more like... she never said anything was wrong than saying there was something wrong but she didn't want to talk about it. At least admit something is wrong,
like Emi did with some coaxing.
-Okay, so you do think she's a hypocrite.
-That is a huge stretch. She has alcohol twice, and only on special occasions. Are you telling me you never had a glass or two before you were of age? I know I did and I don't drink at all now that I am of age.
-Again, that's Hisao's problem, not Lilly's. Relationships don't have to define who you are and what you do as an individual. Just because Lilly is inactive does not mean Hisao has to be (although knowing Hisao, that's how it's going to end up).
So the long and short of it is that you're saying Lilly is hypocritical? Alright. That I can deal with, although putting it that way makes me like her less, not more.
I'm just teasing. I don't use any emotes at all except for very rare and occassional "
" when seriously offended
1. What I meant here is that Lilly is sending a message that, in "real world", ultimately may turn out for the worse rather than for the best. From personal experience, I know people rarely truly appreciate honesty and almost never appreciate total honesty. Lilly does. Therefore, it's a flaw when taken outside of the game.
2. That's a matter of interpretation, I think. No point in trying to convince you here.
3. All of the girls in the game have certain hypocritical traits. Lilly's may be that one. It's somehow dissapointing that she can see her's and Hisao's mistakes on theoretical level, but is much less capable of using that knowledge on a practical level. It's hard to say if it's hypocrisy.
4. It's a small stretch rather than a big one. Lilly is said to quickly get hooked on things. When it was tea, it was OK. When it was
sex, everyone was happier
. When it's wine... That is risky.
5. In terms of having relations with a boy that has a heart-related disease, her having a slow lifestyle AND never encouraging Hisao to do something "on the side" is pretty much a flaw.
6. You asked for flaws, I gave you some. That's it. Lilly's no more of a hypocrite than Shizune is... The reverse would be true from my standpoint. Hanako and Rin also share that trait. Actually, the only girl that never does anything that could be seen as hypocritical is Emi, and that may be only because I can't seem to remember such an instance.

Exactly this, I don't have to elaborate any more (I also do like girls with glasses, go figure).

I don't mind competitiveness, but it's the childish bickering I can't stand Shizune. It's one thing to be competitive in something you do, its another thing to be a complete bitch to someone else all the time just because the two of you used to be competitors.

Man... I really think Shizune's a misunderstood character.
I do have to admit, though, I wasn't a huge fan of her involvement in every other girl's route, but I had nothing but love for her when I was on her route.

It makes a lot more sense when you realise that she's trolling you so you feel more invested in what you're doing. Shizune's slightly obsessed with attaining mastery of a skill and inducing enthusiasm (passion?) in others.
I'm not the most testosterone-poisoned guy either, but I have to admit that if someone got under my skin the way she did and pushed me to compete, I'd have done a lot better in nearly every activity that I participated in. Even Risk.

Don't even get me started on Shizune.
Start please? Given that you wrote a damned good fanfic in which you nailed Shizune's personality, I'm pretty interested in hearing your take on her route. It's bound to be more insightful than 'argh no liek'.

Shizune is my least fav, followed by Emi. I love all the other characters.

I'm sad that Shizune is the least favorite. Not at all in the least bit shocked, but definitely sad.

I love Shizune as a character. Her route has some flaws but it was ultimately enjoyable. But I'll be honest, she's an incredibly divisive character: you either love her or hate her, and I can't blame anyone who hates her, because she can act like a complete bitch sometimes. You can definitely tell just how it was that she managed to drive off the entire student council and alienate all but her best friend the year before: she has an extremely forceful personality, is extremely driven, and all this is compounded by the fact that she's continually frustrated in expressing herself because she can't effectively communicate with people aside from Misha. Worse, other people can't effectively communicate with her. Finally, she can result to petty insults to cover up her insecurities: look at the way she's sniping at Lilly during Act 1.
Don't get me wrong: there's a lot of good facets to her personality, which I tried to emphasize in "Weekend at Hisao's," but dear lord this girl would be a handful.
IMO, Hisao only lucks into a relationship with Shizune because he turns out to be driven and dedicated as well. Seriously: learning sign language in a year, getting tutoring from Misha, standing up to her jackass of a father, staying up late with her at night to help her with her student council work? The main difference between them is that Hisao can be somewhat personable, and has the patience of a fucking Buddha.
Shizune really reminds me of that certain type of person who is incredibly talented and skilled at what they do, but get along so badly with others that you often need another person to act as a buffer between them and the rest of the world so that they don't piss everyone off. Misha tried to be that, but she's also somewhat abrasive due to her loud mouth and her overly energetic nature. Hisao, on the other hand, seems to do much better at that: witness how he mediates between Lilly and Shizune.
Just my thoughts.

I voted for shizune, mainly because I don't really like her personality. I still liked her route, but I wouldn't be able to friend a person like her.

Hanako. Fucking Hanako.
Im sorry fanboys, No Im Not But this girl is the most aggravating, selfish, worthless person on Katawa Shoujo.
My god... she is a waste of time and space. Even Rin in her bullshit at least gave some thought-provoking theories about life and had the courage to change herself without the fuckest of clues on how to do it. In Hanako there is nothing except a shell of a person whose only claim to fame is that people feel sorry for her. Which is the exact opposite of what Katawa Shoujo was trying to do.
Katawa Shoujo is a visual novel that challenges the viewer to see past the disability, instead of looking down on them and giving them pity, but instead trying to have a relationship with them. As equals.
The way that Hanako was written makes her story arc incapable of reaching that goal. And with her giving no kind of support whatsoever, Hanako is a liability of the worst kind, and only serves as White Knight porn.

Rin just doesn't click with me. All the other girls have some aspect I can relate to, but she doesn't.
