The routes themselves can look happy or sad and then the ending can totally surprise you depending on who it is. so I'll put it like this.

Happiest Route (didn't start Lily yet)
Emi>Hanako>Shizune>Rin

Happiest Ending (still didnt start Lily yet)
Hanako>Rin=Emi>Shizune

Big difference with endings for me and even though Shizune ending is last doesn't mean I didn't see it as a happy ending, just not the same amount of effect at the others.

I'm going with Lilly's. Even though I was spoilered when it came to how to get the good ending, this was probably the only storyline where Hisao and I were in perfect sync: many of his responses and actions were ones I would've made in his position. Plus, it's the epic love story I always wish my life had had in it.

Possibly Lilly's ending would be the happiest route. They show clear character growth and their problems were clearly shown to be resolved in the after credits.

On the after credit note; how come the rest of the cast did not get one?! Other routes than Lilly, that is... damn that I completed her route first and expected all others to receive the same after credit treatment.

Never knew there were credit scenes for Lilly.. It's a shame indeed that the other girls don't have them.

Her route feels vastly different with just the existence of a small aftercredit scene.

Rins was the least happy for me because I realized real life will never be as perfect. ;;

Okay - So, having finished all the routes, I feel that in general, the happiest route is Shizune's - but the happiest ENDING is a tossup between Emi's and Lilly's

I'm on her route now and enjoying it very much. Only hers and Rin to go

Take some time before starting Rin's. The disconnection and frustration you will feel on her route is real and going to hit you hard if you have done all other routes.

Well if it were by ranking it might've gone,
1. Emi - coz the emotion was definitely there, plus she was the route I finished first.
1.Lilly- most hearth wrenching moment for me there, definitely one to dwell on.
2. Shizune - it was fullfilling, but It felt like it lacked something.
3. Hanako - I did enjoy the route a lot but the ending was a bit.....hmmm
4. Rin - The only route where I honestly thought I was doing the right thing but I ended up with a bad ending, she is very unique, and I can't quite put this to words but difficult.

I have to say Emi and Lilly both tie for first place, I just can't think of which is better.

Depends on what makes one happy.
Traditional Hollywood romance: Lilly
Comedy with love interest: Emi
The other routes aren't exactly "happy", there's a lot of drama and not everything can be resolved in the end, but if THIS is what makes you happy, try one of those.

Emi's is probably the happiest, though not necessarily the best.
