I would like to take this oppertunity and thank all the people who supported this library by sending entries and generally being awesome. I'd like to thank Mirage for helping with setting up the whole damn thing one year ago, and of course, to Silentcook, for not nuking us from orbit.

I'm looking forward to see what the club has in store for the occasio. I have a feeling it would be godmagical.

Now, it is time to party!

Recent conversation over at the YBC has gotten me wondering about something. Should the Library differentiate between works that are abandoned (i.e., the author has disappeared and the work hasn't been updated in, say, a year) and works that are intentionally incomplete due to author's decision (e.g., The Orion Project or my own Diary of Rin Tezuka)? I personally think it would be a worthwhile distinction, but others may of course disagree.

It would also be nice to see this get updated more frequently. I know I've stopped submitting things due to this lack of updates.

I think the tags should then be 'incomplete' — i.e., we know the author has left it like that, because the author said so; it wouldn't be possible to definitively say so otherwise; and 'abandoned' — i.e., we aren't sure, but it's been left alone a long time.

I don't think there's any functional difference for someone who is for help deciding which story to read. Whether the story is abandoned because the author explicitly said so or because they simply haven't updated in half a year is quite unimportant in the end. Sometimes an author will unexpectedly post a new chapter after a long absence, but the same has happened with stories that were declared abandoned.
If an author unexpectedly posts more, one can always change the status again.
