It's my headcanon that Akira will eventually develop total cataracts.

If she and Lilly are still close when this happens (several reasons that I can think of, why Akira and Lilly wouldn't be close by then), it may eventually get to the point that Lilly is the one helping Akira function, because Lilly's had to learn everything blind from birth, whereas Akira has to adapt to losing sight.

And, I'm trying to think of why Lilly's eyes would be clouded over specifically... and cataracts from birth are the main way I can think of. They both got the genetic predisposition to it, it's just that something happened such that Lilly got them at birth, Akira didn't get them until a risk factor (ocular albinism being a good one there...) bit her.

While this gets ridiculously unlikely, given the particular form of ocular albinism it'd have to be, AND for two girls in the same generation to be homozygous (as it's an X-linked form), and for dark blue eyes to still occur... there's a form of ocular albinism that causes deafness.

Also, screw it, give Hanako ocular albinism, too, it's either that or she's got Elizabeth Taylor's shade of blue eyes. (Or, a form of heterochromia was suggested that would make them look purple at a distance...) But that doesn't explain the hair color...

Alternately, it's anime tropes that don't need explanation.

(And, my actual headcanon for the cause of Shizune's deafness is undetected LQT1, purely for the ironic value of it. If she and Hisao ever have kids... yeah, they're fucked.)

My headcanon of bhtooefr's headcanon is that it's all in continuity with Cormac McCarthy's The Road and nothing in the VN matters because everybody's gonna die in, like, a year.

Sounds like an interesting read, although it's not in my headcanon's continuity.

I like to think that after Shizune's bad ending, Misha gets closer to Hisao and they become a couple. She is bi, not a lesbian. Honestly, Misha is cute she must have a good ending, with Hisao at that.
She is cute, funny and has an interesting character (she might not be too smart, but she is caring and understands people) whereas Shizune is ugly and boring, why does Hisao fuck up such an easy choice?!
