now that i finished rins route 100%, her neutral ending got me teary eyed. bad end was kinda a slap on the face but thats it. also i get the feeling thats how all bad ends are, except emis bad end got me good. i think i got a bit too attached to emi, so that could be why. and lillys route feels like it just ripped your insides out.
on to hanako or shizune. maybe hanako. but thats not till i take a break. rins neutral route did hit me a bit hard...

I believe you mean the bad ending. The neutral is kinda derp and cuts out in act 3

i did. the whole story is very abstract and more frustrating than anything. the neutral ending, which is the heaviest of the 3 endings, got to me. that is just such a fucked up feeling you get. as Sea told me in a message, it feels like you are betrayed in the worst way. it basically feels like getting betrayed in zero escape, and thats never a good feeling.

I maintain that's the bad ending, not neutral btw, and I feel you kinda betray Rin. You promise to help her out and try to understand her and then push her to something she's obviously uncomfortable with because that's what you think she wants.

To me, the neutral and bad ending are both equally bad.
Bad Ending is bad on your part, while neutral is bad on Rin's part.
Then you get a very very satisfying good ending which makes you cry at night and weird feeling in your torso and the same song going through your head for a long time, etc etc. Oddly enough, it wasn't a KS song, but it was a song that would amplify the mood a lot, and make you feel all "feelsy". Let's just say, that song really amplified the feels.

Let's see here...
Promise to try to understand: Done. The attempt fails, as he misunderstands entirely and she doesn't want what he's pushing at all, but the promise is to
try, not flawlessly prevail.
Promise to help her out: Done in pushing her toward what she ostensibly wants.
Promises fulfilled is SUCH a betrayal. What a
dick that Hisao guy must be, to fulfill his promises as best he can like that!

Betrayal meaning the whole art gallery thing. She worked at it, but in the end runs out and wants to leave it all behind. In the good ending, you let her, and she figures out what she wants to do. In the bad, you bring her back even after she just collapsed and obviously is not ok with the whole thing. That was the first time for me (your choices might be different) that my Hisao tried to tell her what she wants, and in the end, she leaves.

Put that way, it makes more sense. I may need to redo Rin's route, like I said I would do before.
I'd think of it this way. You get the neutral ending because you're acting more like Nomiya, who basically is trying to decide what she does. You get her good ending by not trying to decide what she wants, but instead, let her choose what she wants to do.

He still tries to understand and tries to help as per that (albeit flawed) understanding.
People collapse under stress and pressure. It happens. And more often than not, it isn't a sign that they should completely abandon what they're doing, just that they need to be helped through it. "This guy did [x] when he should've done [y]!" isn't exactly betraying anything. The only major difference in the endings is in one, Hisao tries to fit Rin into a set of rules and perceptions that he can comprehend (but that she paradoxically doesn't fit into), E.G., "she's in the art club and always paints, she obviously wants to be an artist so she has to finish the exhibition!" which is what many people do with everything they see.
Honestly, his (and the player's) biggest crime in the neutral end is just being a fairly typical person...His biggest crime in the bad end is being a temperamental dick which happens by default via linear dialogue.

i just finished hanakos story with neutral ending, or so i think it was neutral ending, and then good ending. i am still choked up about it. i cried like 2 times. im just so god dam happy.
i dont know what the bad end is like, but im sure it will be magnified by that much because i already saw the good ending.

Hamako's ending is one of those where, while it hurts you both very much, you can understand why she reacts the way she does. It's an interesting "what if" to the the good ending, and you end up understanding her a bit more.
