New member, first time poster. Have a few questions for the devs about the game and this was the first relevant article I came across, so...

I know you've declined to answer similar questions to this, but I'd like to know whether you'd classify the game's sex scenes more as pornographic, more along the lines of regular non-spank-material sex scenes, or if it's going to vary from path to path and scene to scene. I ask because I'm fine with a sex scene in a story since the Act 1 release made me confident that the writers made scenes that are completely appropriate to the story (unless one was thrown in for a humorously dark bad end like Kenji's 'Manly Picnic' there), but I find straight pornographic material to be rather creepy and voyeuristic. Just a personal thing, really.

Related to the above is the question of whether the version with the sex scenes cut out will include smooth segues containing any information integral to the plot revealed during the skipped scenes will be on the same page as everyone else, whether the scenes will be cut out completely so that people wouldn't be entirely sure where they would've gone in the first place, or if it'll be entirely obvious that a scene was cut short and that we're picking up later and that there was indeed stuff missed that you won't get to see without experiencing the full thing. I'm curious because despite my aversion to porn, I do prefer to experience a complete story and am hoping that I will be able to get it without suffering through the nasty if you happen to have gone that way with the sex in the first place.

Some comments earlier in this thread kinda implied that somewhere you folks had said that it would be the third choice for the latter of the two questions (meaning that anyone skipping the sex scenes would just plain miss stuff and it'd be their loss story-wise). I haven't been looking around these boards long enough to know if that's a confirmed detail, or if they're just speculating on that bit, so I'm sorry if this has been covered elsewhere and I just hadn't seen it.

Anyway, just discovered this game via TV Tropes halfway through this past week and I've since gotten 100% completion on the Act 1 release and am pretty eagerly looking forward to the full thing!

Oh, and while I'm a straight male, I am fully in favor of an awkward Kenji sex scene in a bad ending if it's played for laughs. Don't think it'd be entirely out of character for Kenji to switch teams a bit after his big "shock". Perhaps he'd coerce or even date rape Hisao via another whiskey bottle and in the aftermath as he realizes that sex with men is exhausting as well for him, he'd have a gigantic freakout, calling his hallmate a traitor and a double agent for the "female conspiracy" and shocking the protaganist into a fatal heart attack... or something? I dunno, I just think it'd be hilarious if written as well as his scenes in Act 1 are. Of course, all the Kenji stuff is probably in the bag already, but I don't suppose a little speculation ever hurt anyone, eh?

The reason why we don't want to categorize the sex scenes is that one person's "pornographic" is not so for another. The famous saying about porn is "I can't define porn but I know it when I see it." So yeah, you're going to have to see and decide for yourself. The somewhat wide variety of creators also could mean that some sex scenes in KS are not pornographic for a person, but other scenes might. It all depends on your tastes.

What the sex scenes get replaced with is not final I guess, but we are currently not planning to write some replacement scenes that contain the same events, except without the sex. If you don't read them you'll miss whatever's in them.

I know it's fake, but that demotivational poster of Misha yelling "take off your pants" at Hisao comes to mind...though I'd much rather Misha not be there, and it just be Shizune taking charge of Hisao.

...and who knows, even if it was originally fake, maybe a dev saw it and thought, "hey this ain't a bad idea."
