The most recent chapter is enormous (25 pages/12350 words and counting - versus a total so far of 160 pages/76600 words) with a few major happenings, so going has been slow. I'd like to imagine that I'm almost ready to send it off to my editors, but not making any promises right now. I do want to get it done and posted nearly as much as you all want me to post it so you can read it, so I'm trying to not drag my feet.
That's a truly crazy chunk of writing. Are you going full Helbereth on us? I don't know if I can take that much wahaha at once, but dammit, I am willing to try.
I know I sure as hell am too.
Too much suspense. I'm just glad I just now picked this story up as well, I can't imagine retaining sanity waiting a week, let alone a month or more for an amazing update

I just click on the "view first unread post" button. It should appear if your logged in. Very convenient.

I created the habit of clicking in "View your posts". It stays there forever

It's good to see the story is still in progress. I have patience for the next update as I am reading other Misha fics in the meantime. Can't ever have too much WAHAHA, nope.

Oh, look. I caught up. I told you I had been meaning to read this and now I can say I have. It only took six hours between all the distractions. Now it's time to join the waiting game like everyone else. I don't mind, if it's for a story of such quality as this.

Waiting has always been half the fun.

Waiting is overrated, but for most of these stories it's well worth it.

I've never noticed it until now, but remember how the devs joked around and made Misha's canon disability a broken nail?
Prof gave the route the title "For Want of a Nail" because it relates to its usage as an idiomatic expression, I would assume. Now, it's probably just a coincidence, but the title also ties in with Misha's joke canon disability surprisingly well, and makes it all the more fitting. So yeah, the title can be taken as an inadvertent double entendre, sorta kinda.

Me too, but it's all we can do.

An old proverb showing how small events can have immense consequences.
For want of a nail the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe the horse was lost.
For want of a horse the rider was lost.
For want of a rider the message was lost.
For want of a message the battle was lost.
For want of a battle the kingdom was lost.
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

For Want of a Nail, definition: A story in which one small change has a ripple effect, resulting in massive changes.
Derives from a proverb-turned-poem which traces its origins as far back as the 14th century. Probably the most well-known version is the one which appeared in Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanac:
For want of a nail, the shoe was lost;
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost;
For want of a horse, the rider was lost;
For want of a rider, the message was lost;
For want of the message, the battle was lost;
For want of a battle, the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.

Oh, great lord Steinherz, thank you for blessing us with this information. Honestly, I didn't even know that particular proverb/poem even existed until just now. So, yeah, thanks.
