Are you sure that Hanatarou would be like that?
[exact image as i imagine him.png]
I seriously think he'd be pretty much the same as Hanako, just a bit more... manly
Aye, exactly
He'd still be timid as F, but around his friends, he'd be more likely to have a joke
I'm so glad you posted that picture, as opposed to the *other* version
What, this one?
Hanasuke is looking brooding yet also manly.

I can't be the only one who thinks he looks like some angsty douche, right?

One could argue the same for default Hanako as far as "angsty" goes.

At least F!Hanako's timid
That M!Hanako looks like the kind of guy to slice your hamstrings if you looked at his scars for more than a passing glance D:

It seems most of the shimmie would agree with you:
"Male Hanako could kick your ass five ways till Friday."
"I dunno, I get a real Fist of the North Star vibe.
Omae wo shindeiru. *blood*
Or some fire equivalent."
"Angry manako is best manako.
'Yeah I got some scars, wanna fight about it? No? Then don't fucking look at my scars, you little shit. When I'm done with you you won't be looking at anything but a hospital ceiling.' "

Alright, kiddos.
What names would you give a genderbent cast?
In terms of stuff I'm experimenting with, I've decided Lyle fits Lilly.
Misha is still Misha, because nickname.
As a placeholder, i've dubbed Hanako as Manako, but that's kinda silly.
I'm terrible with Japanese names, so would you lot have any suggestions?

Akira stays Akira, but one of the Japanese (primarily male) meanings instead of the Scottish (exclusively female) one. (The Scottish name appropriate for a male version of Akira would be Acair.)

Acair works a charm
But also, I went ahead and did some looking into names
I googled 'Japanese Boy Names' and I have a few suggestions I'd like opinions to:
Hanako becomes
Harako
Rin becomes either
Kin or
Rinji
Shizune becomes
Shizue
Lilly becomes
Lyle
Shiina 'Misha' Mikado becomes
Shigeo 'Misha' Mikado for nickname's sake
I have no idea for Emi, mind you

Rin can remain Rin because Rin is a gender-neutral name.
And what about Hisao?

I hadn't known that, Might as well keep Rin as Rin, then
And from what I've read, the general consensus is that Hisao's been renamed
Hisako

Male!Shizune wouldn't just be named Carlton, oh no. Her family is rich, so she'd have one of those stuffy, old-money names. Carlton Archibald Hakamichi-Smythe. The Third.
Y'know, it occurs to me that if Lilly had been a boy, her Healthy Adolescent Sex Drive would be seen in a whole 'nother light.
