Silly gamers. I read through the comments in that article, and it seems awfully childish watching the commenters play the "My character is hotter than your character" game.

So glad we don't engage in that foolishness here. Sure we have our favorites, but I'm so glad we don't tear down other peoples favorite girls just to make our own look better.

To link the rails together, FF 13's Vanille and Serah are on the list. If only the story had better roles for them...

Not to start a fight or anything, but I've always thought that fire emblem and their characters deserved more recognition while Final Fantasy and their characters deserved less. Its the under appreciated vs the over appreciated in my mind.

This. Lilly may be one of the more popular girls, but her cousin deserves some attention too.

It's an attractive video game character list, not a KS list.

Given some of the other characters on tha list that's not really much of an acsomplishment...

I'm just happy that someone from KS made it on the list.

Agreed, although it is a shame that only one character got recognition. Personally, I'm surprised Elizabeth from Bioshock: Infinite didn't make the list. She's one of the few video game heroines that's sexy and funny and not a damsel in distress. It's nice to see some designers shying away from overused stereotypes like the helpless female character.

Anyway, it's really cool that Lily made it onto the list, but I would like to know just how they came up with the list in the first place.
What was their criteria?
Was there a poll? If so, what audience was the poll aimed at?
Was this all based on a couple of people's preferences?

For all that I actually find Lilly the most attractive, I kind of wish Kotaku had put Hanako on the list instead, just so we could watch all the Kotaku readers' heads explode.
