Blops 2 had a shot at GOTY every other year that that same game came out under a different title.

Spec Ops, maybe. It's a pretty good game.

I'd cast my lot in with The Walking Dead but it, like Katawa Shoujo, is less a game and more interactive fiction. Still, it's the only one in the history of gaming that managed to make people give a shit about the kid as opposed to immediately trying to get it killed so...Hell, GOTY worthy in my book.

Same here.

Clementine is in my top 5 favorite characters of all time list.

Oh god, that ending was great. I cried like a little bitch.
I haven't finished it yet. But currently, it's all pretty much gone to shit. All started with those fucking cannibals...Just went downhill from there. But Clem's doing alright, at least.

I'm deliberately avoiding playing it the way I actually would the first time through. Mostly because I'd be the asshole who just does whatever to survive with no concern for anyone else, and that doesn't seem appropriate for Lee.

<Ascension>: "I laughed, cried, vomited in my mouth a little, and even had time for marshmallows afterwards. Well played, Xanatos. Well played."
<KeiichiO>: "That's a beautiful response to chocolate."

Treyarch makes good over-the-top history. I think that MW3 was shit (and the same with MW2)
When the war, has been won
And our march home begins
What awaits has not yet been revealed
What was won? what was lost?
Will our deeds be remembered?
Are they written on stone or in sand?

MW3 was shit alright. I regretted having bought it after an hour of playing. I mean, you die way too easily and the maps were really not designed well; the movement is also not right, it's way too slow and sluggish. The Graphics weren't good aither, and the soundtrack/Sound effects weren't that much better.

There probably won't be any other MW game like the first.

The Multiplayer is one of the reasons that made me dislike it even more.

I've always had more Games of the Year. Doesn't matter when it came out, either, just that I've played it in the year 2012.

I've had a good year in gaming in 2012, personally. I know not all were released this year, I just go by it being the first time I play them being this year.

Bioshock - amazing
Batman Arkham City - amazing
Cave Story - amazing
To the Moon - amazing
Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion - amazing
Katawa Shoujo - amazing (obviously)

Of course there is a wide difference between them. The FPS of Bioshock is much different than Oblivion, and both are very different than Katawa Shoujo. Nevertheless, I loved them all.

Of those the only ones to really bring on the feels (and manly tears) has been To the Moon and Katawa Shoujo.
Overall, though, those are my Games of the Year. And if I absolutly had to choose a #1, KS has a strong chance of being that. (It might have to fight a Big Daddy and the Joker, or fly to the moon, but it could possibly do it.)

As an overall Game of the Year, however, I am doubtful. As amazing as this game is, I just can't see it being voted as #1 game of the year. I'm just being realistic.

I loved KS, and it was for sure one of the best and emotional things i played all year, plus all those feels, but i don't think i could give it my GOTY. I think that would have to go to Persona 4 Golden on Vita, and i was unsure about giving that GOTY over Assassins Creed III.

This is a list of my past GOTY's too.
2006 - Oblivion
2007 - Mass Effect
2008 - Fallout 3
2009 - Borderlands
2010 - Red Dead Redemption
2011 - Skyrim
2012 - Persona 4 Golden

Not quite for me: I was convinced for most of the year that it was going to be, and then Xenoblade came along. But KS is still a respectable second place in my book.

And, yeah. No official place is going to touch this game with a hundred-foot pole. Maybe /v/ will give it something, though. I seem to recall they already used the soundtrack in the 2011 awards, implying that they would likely consider it for 2012.

Definitely my game of the year. No game has ever managed to get me as emotionally invested in the story or as emotionally attached as katawa shoujo, and for that it easily earns my GOTY.

^This.
And this is coming from a Die-hard Halo and Mass Effect fan, so I know all about feels from getting emotionally attached to characters.
I write take a look, would you kindly?
I also draw, kind of.

Same reason it's GOTY2012 for me, too.
I read about it in reddit/r/Games when they did their GOTY discussions, I had originally pushed Katawa Shoujo off as "Cripple porn, lulz".

Ended up giving it a try, and was in tears the same evening. I think it made GOTY at that point already, excluding all the other stuff.

KS is way over the level of GOTY that giving it GOTY title would be degrading. I will never submit to acknowledging KS as a mere game. It should be given Experience of the Year instead.
