He has a pastebin, but he wiped that, too. As I understand, he decided that he doesn't have a future in writing and should move on. He also considered the content of much of his work to be something he no longer wanted associated with his name. I don't really agree with his decision to purge, but it's his decision to make.

Shame. He was a pretty good writer. His only big flaw was his tendency to sacrifice characterization for drama, but when he wasn't trying to artificially create trouble for his characters, he was gold.

There is a Misha route. This thread confuses me.

This thread was about a Misha route in the actual VN, which was never even an option.

Oh I meant in the VN. It's Shizune's and Misha's route, really. Calling it just Shizune's route is selling Misha way short. But yeah I know, could argue that for an entire thread of 50 pages up and down.

I don't really consider ”Misha's Route” apart of Shizune's Route. Although she is featured a lot in Shizune's. You never end up with her, which i dislike if that is her ”so called route”. It doesn't matter that she had a H-scene in Shizune's route, that only made a plot point. Kind of... And i think it's fine selling Misha a bit short, seeing that she is not the goal point for the route.

Misha's route is in a box.

If there was a Misha route, would they spend a good hunk of it just making you feel bad for Shizune instead of focusing on the main character?

"Shiina Mikado vs the World" and "Braving the Storm" were in my headcanon, man. My headcanon. You do not mess with a man's headcanon and expect him to assent. Especially not by outright deleting it. I am genuinely saddened by this turn of events.
Still, I suppose it was his own work to delete as he saw fit. I just wish I could have saved some of them.

Prof, please, for the love of God, don't delete your Misha route. Even if you decide that it was all a mistake, abandon it, distance yourself from it, or burn/delete everything else you've ever written because you begin to feel a violent disgust for your works. Please. We can't lose any more good fanfics about her. It is not a possibility.

Well, since this addressed me directly, I feel somewhat obligated to respond.

As I've stated before, I have no intention to stop writing. Nor do I ever condone destruction of one's work, no matter how terrible (for me, this even extends to drafts).

That being said, there's no guarantee that bad things won't happen. When it comes down to it, if there's something you wouldn't want to go away, you need to take the initiative and preserve it yourself. You probably don't need to preserve it yourself, but if it suddenly disappears, you only have yourself to blame when it's gone.

I sort of agree that Shizune's route can be considered to be Misha's as well, to an extent. Not because you can end up with her (you can't, not counting fanfics like mine) but because Misha's backstory and personal issues play a crucial part in the plot; in my opinion her presence is more significant there than any other main heroine outside their own routes. So getting through the route involves learning quite a bit about Misha as well in addition to Shizune, which, romance aside, is what these routes are supposedly about, right?

Sad to see Doomish leave like this. I never got to reading her Misha route in full, sadly, and now it looks like I won't get the chance. (The Internet Archive has failed me. ) I personally don't believe in removing old works from the net, no matter how bad they seem now in retrospect - they're still part of you anyway. (For the record, I still have my age-old, incomplete (well, not fully translated) Dragonball fic on my other FF.NET profile ("Steven P. P"), so if anyone wants to cringe or have a good laugh, be my guest. )
