I was just playing DnD with a bunch of friends where I played as Sith Lord who, in an alternate timeline, had Rin as his wife and Hanako as his daughter. Through a time continuity error, he was led to believe that his wife and daughter were indirectly murdered by Jedi Consulars. What can I say, that was the most emotional DnD session I've been through yet.

Anyway, the concern in relating to the subject is clearly visible, especially when I look back at other VNs I played before, and a question of using a condom was mentioned once maybe. KS is the first VN I know, where the question is adressed more or less properly, or at least not entirely absent from the plot.
Yeah, I can second this. The only other VN that addressed the issue of contraception that I have played used magic as an excuse.
Are you thinking what I'm thinking? A VN where 'people die when they are killed'?

Yep. 'Magic'

No, no. That VN used magic as an excuse to have sex-scenes. The VN I am talking about is Sengoku Rance. It starred a sex-maniac who had minimal amounts of children because his slave knew the spell for magical contraception. Hilariously, because that said slave is unavailable in the sequel due to plot events, the epilogues for that game show that he ends up impregnating a lot of women.

You know, Shizune's route was the first one I played, and when she tied him to the chair and he "fired off inside her" My first thought was: "Soo.. there will be a pregnancy in this game? That's different!" I mean honestly, he doesn't use protectionwith ANY of the girls except Hanako! Are all these girls on the pill? We KNOW Emi isn't. she actually states that "it's not her safe time" at one point, indicating that she was essentially using "rhythm method" as her birth control. Well, that and Anal.

I really do wish that the KS writers had been a bit more conscious about that issue when writing the sex scenes. They can be perfectly sexy and still safe too. Actually, having Shizune put the condom on Hisao while he was tied up (maybe using her mouth? Yowza!) would have been much sexier than her just jumping up and riding him like a steed. It would have fit her character much better too.
Actually Lilly used the pill (she mentions it after Hisao remembers what Akira said about using protection) and at the end of Emi's route she is the one who puts the condom on so only two didn't take precautions.

Sengoku Rance isn't exactly a VN: it's more like Nobunaga's Ambition with porn.

Uesugi Kenshin is the best, btw.

On-topic: it's things like Rance using magic contraception that actually make Rance actually likeable, as opposed to the typical "rape rape rape" erogame protagonist.

Nope.
Warhammer 1st. ed.
Cyberpunk 2020
World of Darkness (mainly Masquarade and Requiem, some Apocalypse)
Call of Cthulhu
a little of Legend of Five Rings
and some local/native games

No DnD. Why?

Sigh....I'm quite surprised anyone still plays real-life tabletop role-playing anymore. I love to create cross-franchise dungeons/stories. Some may sound really eccentric but it's interesting and refreshing to get into character when the character is taken out of his/her original universe. Opens up endless possibilities for both story and gameplay.

Imagine Gambit, Kil'jaeden, Heero Yuy, Obi-wan Kenobi and Reimu exploring in Shin Megami Tensei universe............

Are you secretly on drugs? If so they are awesome drugs, if not your imagination is way better than mine.

I stick to the classics, Forgotten Realms, Planescape, Yrth and so on.
