This thread kind of made me chuckle at how long I've actually been here waiting and waiting for the full version.
And how incredibly few posts I made in that time, ha

Or we could share the title, so effectively, everyone stays in the community and nobody leaves, ever.
Well you have to die at some point. Guess that's the only way I can...
Better get to work then

Heroic. I will be a part of this.

Hehe ^_^ A lot of us like to lurk. Or, like myself are not able to view/post on the forums where I work. I mean I could try but that would be a really awkward HR meeting.

I think this is a noble endeavor. Where do I sign up?

I'd like to point out that KS is already gathering quite the publicity at the moment. Might want to wait before plugging it anywhere, or most people won't see much more than the "server overloaded" Rin picture.
So far I've spotted coverage on Kotaku and Escapist, guess it's just a matter of time until it plops up on Cracked - each of this site has the userbase to completely knock out a server with a single link.

Unfortunately, most of the coverage I read on these (especially Kotaku), pushed the fact that it was a "disabled dating sim".

Well, Kotaku
tried to stay neutral - in fact, their coverage brought me here ( ok, I'm prone to fits of morbid curiosity, bad example here )
Really surprising is the fact that Escapist has some actual
praise for KS, it being a western "mainstream" games site made me expect the worst.
The late additon to traffic from Escapist would come from
this "Critical Miss" comic, wich is not only hilarious but actually urges people to try the game before coming to nasty concluisons.
This still manages to make marginally more sense than the Soulcalibur IV / Star Wars crossover.
You may need to read this [link to original KS Escapist article] in order to recieve today's mirth allotment.
Hell, why not go play the game?(NSFW)[link to KS] It's not quite what you'd expect.

I'll be honest, I feel kiiiiind of out of place here. I had never known about Katawa Shoujo until the week before it was released. I didn't play any of the demo, didn't read anything about it. I had just started regularly browsing /a/ in November, and when all the threads on January 4th were about Katawa Shoujo, I decided I would check it out too.
I refrained from /a/ during my week or so of playing(and now that I'm mostly done, I've really had no desire to go back. Like I broke a habit or something), as to avoid spoilers. 95%'d the game, and tried talking about it with people on another forum I frequent. They seemed largely uninterested, so I signed up here.
It's as if most of the people here know each other, and/or have been following the game's progress for years. And I just kind of popped up. It is a fun place, even if I'm a foreigner here. Lots of reading material. Even before signing up I spent several hours just reading through old threads and some fanfictions.

Not true. I never played the demo. I never visited /a/. In fact, I've never frequented 4chan (I prefer Reddit, myself). The only coverage I had heard were from gaming and entertainment websites that I follow.
So, I'm pretty much in the same boat as you.

Same here dude, never played the demo, rarely go on 4chan, never even heard about KS until a week after it was released haha, only downloaded it because of a fansub group I regularly visit posted about it. You'll feel at home soon

Huh. Don't know where I got that assumption, then. Still feels weird stepping into a thread, only to find it was made in 2009. But whatever, I believe we'll all become...

I myself never heard of Katawa Shoujo until my step-son gave it to me a week after it came out. I've never been to 4chan, I don't read review/news sites, and after completing it and having absolutely no one in real life or on my usual chatrooms that want to talk about it, I decided to seek out the official forums in an effort to find people to connect with in an open environment.

I'd heard a few things about KS here and there, wrote it off as "4chan writing a porn game about crippled girls, it'll probably be full of stupid memes and shock images," then somehow stumbled across its tvtropes page and was surprised to see, like, ten billion entries under Tearjerker and Heartwarming. Found the opening animation on youtube. . . was struck by how beautiful it was. . . downloaded the game. Played it through in a week. Needed someone to share all my feels with and /a/ and /v/ are dicks.
Ended up here.

Who are these people?
You, Humbled Fan and me are some but I see many people posting often. I don't think that many people post this much though.
