Seconded. If I made a funny, it was unintentional. And I don't see it...

Lilly is blind, she cannot see anything but black (if we go by the theory that Lilly's blindness means that her eyes are completely non-functioning and pick up no light). Therefore, "in the dark".

A tasteless joke if you ask me, but G3n0c1de didn't intend it, so I ain't gonna raise shit over it.

I don't understand it myself, but saying a blind person only sees blackness is incorrect I think. Technically they wouldn't see anything at all. When we close our eyes, we see black (or red if there is light shining on us) because our eyes function and register lack of light as blackness. Seeing as a blind person's eyes do not function at all (in most cases) I don't think that they "see" anything. Vision does not exist for them.

Her eyes don't work, but the part of her brain that would process sight would still be functioning but have no input. Think of it like a DVD player. If you have the DVD player (part of the brain that processes sight) plugged into a TV (brain), then the TV will still have a input from the DVD player, this usually being a DVD logo. When a DVD is put into the player, the player sends the input to the TV to display it. Think of the DVD being the eyes. If the eyes don't work, it's like a DVD that doesn't work or isn't placed into the DVD player, thus all you get is a blank screen. This would mean that yes there is "sight" for most blind people, but it's just blackness. A "blank screen", if you will.

So in our off topic misadventure we've discovered that blind people can in fact see...nothing. HUZZAH

Black = Absence of light
Seeing "nothing" = absence of light
Therefore
Seeing nothing = black

Shizune sleeps with a plushie, or Misha, whichever's puffier.

Do Emi take off her prosthetic legs in her sleep? Seems like a pain in the ass to wake up without your legs.

Rin sleeps without a bra because she rolls around at night and the bra would slide off her stumps, she also sleep talk non stop at night and it drives Emi insane.

I'm pretty sure Emi would remove her prosthetics at night and a lot of girls don't wear bras at night. But what what you have brought up brings up another question: does she wear a bra at all? In reality...probably, but as a plot device...maybe not :D

I don't think that's the case with blind people. If they're totally blind their brain just doesn't work with light and therefore they just see nothing. If you have no sense for something you just don't sense it.

I think it would be a safe bet that she does. Especially with how well-endowed she is in the chest area, not having that would probably cause little points to appear in her shirt.

Though I will admit that the concept of Rin not wearing a bra would probably help me prove to her that I do not have problems in my pants, if you catch my drift.

But on the topic of Rin, I imagine her to sorta flipflop back and forth between being dominate and submissive, but not going very far in either direction. I also suspect that she has emotional baggage with the whole armless thing, and she's been holding it all in trying to act like she's ok with it.

hey, good thinking, man. title of the thread is "Girls in Bed", doesn't have to be about sex. so, what do you guys think the girls sleep in?

it's a pretty safe guess that Emi takes off her prostheses(eseses) to sleep - yeah, it'd suck to wake up without her legs, but leave them on when she sleeps and if one comes off, she'll be kicking herself all night. and I keep picturing her wearing some old gym clothes to sleep, something comfortable and basic, nothing fancy. does Emi think of a sports bra as lingerie? I'm wondering this now, but that might be the beer talking.

and I could totally picture Shizune asleep and clutching a stuffed animal (Misha counts), just 'cause it's cute. I also picture her wearing mens pajamas for some reason, don't know why.

since Lilly's not worried about looks, I'd bet she's got some nightgowns or something that are really soft, something that feels good to sleep in. sleeping naked also feels pretty good, so maybe she does that too. I'm good with this either way.

Hanako... okay, here's what I'm thinking: what does she wear when nobody's around and she knows no one's gonna see her? I doubt she owns anything that's, like, skimpy or stuff like that, so for sleep she's probably got a nightgown too, maybe she swiped one of Lilly's. or maybe it's the other way around, maybe she wears less when she sleeps, 'cause she knows she's alone, like she's trying to get comfortable with herself but can't make much progress.

I think (my memory's not great right now) that one of the devs said Rin wears camisoles, or something like that. dunno how much those do for support, though. and I dunno about emotional baggage, but I remember someone pointing out that growing up without arms, Rin had to have someone else help her with a lot of things, like dealing with clothes and going to the bathroom and all that. hell, she's got to get somebody to help with her tampon. so she's probably got real different ideas about touching and personal space than most people. clearly this extends to her mind, which was why she was okay with talking about Hisao's possible pants problems five minutes after meeting him.

...yeah, still really like Rin.

The best explanation I remember reading is "Describe what the view from the back of your head looks like."

I dont know about you, but my vision isnt a field of black beyond my peripheral vision, it just isnt there.
