Sleeping with your babies/small children is considered bad parenting, you can roll over and smother them.

If the kid can't escape they aren't meant to survive, right?
I suspect the odds of a child being born with a birth defect are greater than smothering an infant accidentally. Is it fair to blame parents of kids with birth defects of bad parenting for bringing the wrong genetics to the bedroom? The human condition is that crappy things happen to children and their parents all the time. Generally the most vociferous criticisms come from the dried up prunes of both sexes who never had kids of their own.

Infinite fuel, man.

This letter is just beautiful. I can clearly imagine Hanako's reaction when she reads it. With Hisao on her side, of course.
Lilly
"Stop telling me not to worry about you! Just this once... Let me cry..."

Hisao
"I fell in love with you, and I refuse to let that be thrown away, just because you're afraid to lose me."

Emi
"Why are you doing this? Why can't you just leave me alone?"

You made that evident enough when you wrote A Runner's Afternoon.

Reminds me of the letters fathers in the military write to their unborn children while they were at the front, and they never made it home...

The picture at the end of the story has gone missing. I'm assuming it was a picture of Hanako and her mother (as in cpl_crud'a avatar), but does anyone have a link to the full image handy? I know it's probably on the mishimmie, but I've already waded through about as many pages of Hanako porn as my heart can take, and cannot muster the courage to look for any harder.
