First-person Rin is hard to do convincingly while retaining enough coherence. She'd need an editor. :)

Or she could just be incoherent. Seems like her style of painting, to the extent that it's very surreal.

Yes, that's the point. But with text, the editor is needed so that the reader can figure out what's going on.
As dewelar also found out, when writing Rin fanfics, it's extremely difficult to be able to do it from Rin's POV.

Questionable- did David Lynch give a damn if anybody knew what was going on in Eraserhead?

I can imagine it's super hard to do that, though.
