I know, I was referring to Japan. Sorry if I worded it confusingly. My point was in addition to you saying you weren't going to complain, that there wasn't really all that much to complain about.

Anyone who's seen that movie can't help but have that song pop up in his head when the phrase "____ [more] days till Halloween" is mentioned. Earworm of the most insidious kind.

This isn't true of most VNs/eroges that have an official translation for distribution in America and other English speaking countries, such as the stuff that JAST brings over. They make clear to state that every character is 18 (even if it's obviously not true) to avoid any type of legal repercussions. Since KS was always intended to be released to this market, that's why I imagine the devs decided to make all the characters at least 18 as opposed to having it be important to the actual story.

Many VNs that have fan translations through Hongfire or other similar sites keep the text as close to the original meaning as possible, so they preserve the girl's ages.

Actually, it's Canada and Australia, IIRC, where it's critically important that everyone be 18. Otherwise, merely having KS on your computer is grounds for a child porn conviction there.

And, seeing as there are Canadian (IIRC) and Australian devs... Rin's a year behind.

There is a disappointing lack of KS/Coraline crossover art in the world. What? NO, it's not weird that I want to see Hanako with buttons sewn over her eyes! Anyway, blatantly evil coin-flipping Hanako is hot. >.>
