Illyas age makes sense, it may not be a good sense, but it does. She's a homuncoli developed to be the grail and as such has no need for secondary sexual characteristics. Therefore, never grows past 12, even though she is 18.

I know about Illya, but I think I read somewhere that the protagonists were 18, despite being in their first or second years of high school. It might have been wrong, or I might be remembering incorrectly.

Illya doesn't have a sex scene, is the thing. Her age is for entirely plot-relevant and tragic reasons.

She did have a planned route, but it was scrapped. So the age thing may not have been completely innocent

FelOnyx, I can only presume that was in Fate/Zero or something? I'm not sure how they'd have implemented it in Fate/Stay Night, but then that may have been why they axed it.

It has nothing to do with Fate/Zero. Early in Stay/Night's development, Illya was planned as being one of four heroines, and her story would have diverged during Heaven's Feel on the 9th day, but it was cut due to length concerns, with parts of it folded into Heaven's Feel.

Illya is older than 18.
Fate/Zero confirms she's in her mid 20s

Also, despite the route being cut they also had a bad end where Illya rapes Shirou that was cut fairly late.

Haha, I actually have no experience with Fate/Zero which is why I asked That said, that's kinda interesting - length concerns I think is a good enough reason, but it would have been a nice idea had they gone through with it. Her relationship with Shirou interests me anyway.
