Since someone mentioned it, I'd like to ask: who's in charge of The Mishimmie? Are you guys (one of) the Devs?
If so, can you guys just remove
that file?

Yeah Mishimmie is ours, but I don't see any reason to remove the comic.

Ummm, which program(s) were used in the making of all CGs of Katawa Shoujo? I mean backgrounds and character sprites in general.
Also it would be best if I could find/see a tutorial too, since I am interested in that kind of stuff right now.

Photoshop and Paint Tool SAI. You can find tons of tutorials for digital illustration by just searching from google or deviantart.

If I may: what specific version of Photoshop?
And oh yes, the tutorials help.
They help a lot.

Pretty sure every version released between 2006 and 2011 was used, so CS3, 4 and 5, whatever was natural.

I'm always asking silly questions. But I wonder, do you guys have secret accounts on the forums you use & talk shit with the rest of the commoners?

What. No. At least as far as I'm aware, but I don't understand why anyone would do that. We're perfectly capable of sufficient shittalking on our actual accounts.

...What.
No seriously, what.
Or rather: what, seriously? No.

It was really just idle curiosity. I could've guessed since you guys aren't exactly the
shy bunch. But y'know, everything you say carries quite a lot of weight, naturally, and is unanimously met with great regard -we all worship you, y'know. I fancied the thought; perhaps a certain prince Charles felt the need for an unbiased ear on which to voice his troubles, his concerns, wished to adress the masses without declaring war or condemning someone to die -we all fear you, y'know. It makes me chuckle to imagine someone arguing with a dev unknowilingly -since everybody's an expert- or a dev's... say... opinion or something getting torn apart like fair game -not that I fancy
that thought.
Ofcourse I'm wrong.
I'm the one who's too self-effacing & likely to actually do some thing like that since the idea somehow materialized between my shoulders.
But it leads me to my next quetion
Do you guys ever get tired of being worshipped?
I don't know if i would

Silentcook is secretly Xanatos. Mind=Blown
Is it bad I can somehow seeing this being slightly possible?
Also, actual question (for the artist/whoever did the Backgrounds):
What was done to the location photos for the effect they have in the Visual Novel? Was it a filter in Photoshop or SAI? If so, what ones? (I actually like the background style in Katawa Shoujo, reminds me of an oil painting for some reason)

The technique is a pileup of different PS filters and adjustments. There's no recipe, it had to be done differently to different photos.

Erenussocrates wrote:Ummm, okay this might sound stupid or irritating, but when I search like "digital illustrations tutorial" all kinds of different stuff shows up and I am not interested in any of them. I mean, I am looking for the best/most reliable anime/manga drawings and paintings tutorial, and also a tutorial about how to do backgrounds like in Katawa Shoujo :P Well, what should I type to find results for anime one? XD Is there anybody willing to hold my hand here? lol. I really would love a companion holding my hand and helping me out online, step by step :(
You see, I downloaded Ren'Py and fiddled with it a bit, and got hysterical upon seeing how most of the regular stuff was so easy to do. So I am inspired to make somethings right now, I really am. I even wrote down some text and stuff, I really want to create somethings by myself. That's the story, lol.
Edit: Oh, omg... Wait, screw this, I figured out that most of the more professional illustrators use graphic tablets anyways, duh... It's nearly impossible to create outstanding stuff with my pesky mouse, at least for me. Well, I don't know how to use graphic tablets or if my computer will recognize it when I plug it in though... Well, any recommendations for a humble graphic tablet for a beginner? Which is not overly expensive?
Wacom Bamboo. It's what I have, and a couple of the staff artists used to use it too.

Hello.. first time for me commenting on anything.. it's just that I couldn't help it but write here.
I'll skip writing about my feelings and whatnot, couse I saw that there are already a lot of people who felt similar and wrote about it.
I want to.. thank all you developers for that.. experience I guess would be good word for that. After completing every possible scenario and replaying two girls once more, can't stop thinking.. about many things.. As a disabled person myself I .. feel .. maybe proud would be good for that - that someone did something that society doesn't want to acknowledge. Not sure how to put it.. it was great to read Katawa Shoujo about disabled people and how they manage their lifes. Even if your intentions were (as far as I have read few devs posts) more like - its an interesting idea - when RAITA posted that picture, that doesn't change the fact that you all did great job, and as I've read some comments, some people changed, some realized some things, some started to look differently at disabilities. Really, thank you for making Katawa Shoujo.
Going on to the question - it was probably answered somewhere.. but after reading around 60 pages I gave up to read all of them and refreshing things might be good, also time flies and things change so if answer was no before , maybe it will be other this time.
I like Lilly and Hanako most so I'm interested if Suriko has any sort of blog or something, with arts or stories. That goes for people who worked on Lillys arts, if they have some place where they put their works for public.
I found twitter links but... this one is out, I still cant handle to understand how twitter works lol..
Another question, I would like to confirm if the links I have found on devs are correct ones, I mean, if there's anything else you make to public and don't mind sharing. Kinda interested in your stories and arts.
I liked the stories in Cruds blog (especially Hanakos ones ^^) and Raemz arts are great.
