Finished emis runnig schedule few weeks ago and i have never felt better of my self mentally and physically. Finally did something usefull and rewarding. Unfortunately i now have to skip few weeks due to a flu.
Anyways, i'm now looking for some upper body muscle training tips (mostly for back and shoulders) since i can't do push up because my shoulders tend to snap everytime i go down. it doesn't hurt but i don't want to take any risks with that.
Also i'll test soon how much can i get from cooper test. Previous recor was about 2200m three years ago i think.

Until today I haven't ran for just about as long as I live.
So yeah, as you'd imagine, I'm in terrific shape.
However, I was planning to start running someday for quite a while, and today I finally forced myself to try it out for the first time...
Anyway, at a certain point as I ran I just stopped feeling my legs (I did feel pain though, unfortunately
) but I kept running.
Every time I was thinking of stopping, I pictured a pouting Emi and kept going XD
It's not much, but... well, maybe it's a start, you know?
And I probably wouldn't have even done that much without Katawa Shoujo.
There's another field of my life that's simply better thanks to this VN. I'm so happy I found it.
Also, I must say, it did feel good to run like that... I'm actually kind of looking forward to doing it again, now.

So, we've drawn another victim into our trap...*evil laughter*
Good to hear that you've started running! If you can keep it up for the first two times, it gets a whole lot easier and a lot more enjoyable! Hope to hear from you again here!

I've been swimming for a while, and I understood that it just does not cut it. I feel nothing. I don't feel a slightest bit of running euphoria. I will probably continue to swim, since I have nothing better to do, but I don't feel happy anymore. Running is special, I guess. Well, if I won't run for Emi, then I will swim for Chiemi. Instead of the usual 3/1.5/5/2.5/3/1.5/5 I've been sticking with for a while, I went for a 5/3/5/3/5 pattern. Kicked my butt, but I managed to make it through without any handicaps.

I seem to be a tad late to the party, but I just thought I would post and say that going through this wonderful VN has inspired me to try to get myself into shape as it has done so for apparently quite a few others. Starting on the couch to 5k tomorrow morning, and will do my best to stick to it!

Thanks
I'm actually about to start, but wow is it cold today haha.
Edit: Done now! I feel really good, aside from my ankles hurting, but I think that could be from me being flat footed

Another late-comer here. Sorry if this is too long or depressing, but I needed to let this out, even if it was in a post no one else would ever actually read.
I only discovered KS a few days ago, but I actually started a similar regimen, except with biking, a couple months ago after suffering a sort of existential breakdown. I'm not sure what, if anything, directly precipitated it, but one night as I lay in bed I was suddenly struck full-force by the sickening reality that I'm 25 years old - nearly a third of the way through my life - still living with my parents, one friend I barely keep in touch with, a rocky-at-best job history, and nothing to show for my life but an advanced degree in a subject I don't even like anymore and a collection of half-wrought story ideas that I somehow thought would transform themselves into a writing career. I've never dated, had sex, or shared any form of physical or emotional intimacy whatsoever. Not that I was spoiled for opportunities, but the idea of letting myself need someone when losing them was not only possible but inevitable was something that I could never reconcile. On top of all that, I was morbidly obese at nearly 280 pounds and too out of shape to even go grocery shopping without breaking a sweat. I could see my life stretching on without meaning or hope, and I could see my death - perhaps for the first time - not as an abstract thought but with the clarity and presence with which I could see myself eating dinner or brushing my teeth.
For the next few days I could barely function, overcome by that cold, existential dread all of us keep locked just below the surface but which most cannot admit is even there. The walls of reality felt thin and brittle, as if a single errant thought might shatter them altogether. Just about the only thing I could do was read, and so reading became just about the only thing that I did.
After those first few days, I started going to the gym - more just to get out of the house and break routine than for my fitness. It started with a simple 20 minute treadmill walk, something so easy I could do it every day no matter how I felt. I kept at it, and soon enough 20 minutes became 30 minutes, and then 40. Around that time, I decided that if I was going to spend all my free time reading or exercising, I might as well do both at once if I can. I checked out some audiobooks from the library and started doing even longer walks. I also started switching over to the bike machines, which let me work out harder while keeping my heart rate out of the red zone. By the end of week seven, I was biking over an hour a day everyday; I felt healthier than I could remember having ever felt before; and I had lost over 20 pounds, making me officially not morbidly obese for the first time since I finished grad school.
So anyway, there I was one night, browsing /d/ for moderately shameful fapping material, when I see people recommending this game about disabled girls. That being a minor fetish of mine, and having never played a galge or VN before, I decided to give it a go. Several hours later I am practically in love with this girl whom I had initially hated and whose route I only wound up on by accident, dealing with the very same issues and doubts that had been plaguing me for months, as if someone had made this game just for me at that moment. Now I'm overflowing with all these feels, and I can't exactly talk to people irl about how an anime porn game about crippled high school girls made by 4chan made me cry.
And that's all I have to say about that. I'm still too fat to run without it hurting my knees, but I plan on starting as soon as I can.

We all gotta start somewhere. Welcome, thanks for posting, and best wishes for your future!
And don't feel bad about not running. She's ecstatic that you're just moving and getting fit!

I hate to doublepost, but this thread's not exactly been active lately...
Decided to mix things up today. Instead of doing my usual 5/3/5/3/5, I went for a 8/5/8. Considering how much my usual wears me out, I completely expected the 8-minute stretches to kick my butt. I surprised myself by getting through the first in one piece, and the second run was barely harder than the first!

A while back I said that I'd run solely to keep this thread alive, if need be. And here I am, the only poster...
After disgracing myself and skipping my run last week, I got my butt out there this week for another 8/5/8 run. Went easier than last time did. Kinda odd looking back at being challenged to do 3 minutes just a few months ago...
Though it's not overly regimented or Emi-inspired, I have taken up a nightly pushup routine. Hopefully this one'll stick, as all previous attempts have been disastrous failures.

I did go running last week, just forgot to post then. Whoops.
Went for a run today too. Not really much worth noting here, though I did have a wacky dream before getting up for it. I'll probably go up to a 5/3/8/3/5 cycle next week from my current 8/5/8. It's getting pretty easy, and from my experience short bursts of running screws me over far more than long stretches.

I've been running despite the weather -I didn't do the couch to 5k, I just run about 5k three times a week. Trying to improve my sprinting and get my time to under 30 minutes (I'm at about 32-33 right now.)
-10 Degrees be gummed, I will get my exercise!
Rule #1: Cardio.
(And it only got that bad twice. Michigan weather is fun...)

Just pretend the pushups are a tribute to Rin. Be her arms.
I should start running, I'm pretty out-of-shape...After I get my sleep schedule regulated, maybe. Been suffering headaches due to my body resisting the less erratic sleep cycle I'm trying to enforce on it.
