Isn't LARP Live Action Role Play? Or am I confused?

xD What did you say?Walrusfella wrote: They were wondering who the cutesy encouragement girl on chart was.
This makes sense to me however I have no idea what the actual facts behind it are.Well, I certainly applaud anyone wanting to do a hundred pushups, but take it from this old gym rat, I've spent my entire adult life in the gym, and a program like this one can do more harm than good.
If you only train one part of your body (and that's all a single exercise like pushups is going to do for you), you're setting yourself up for injuries down the road. I've seen it a hundred times.
It's like putting a powerful engine in a stock Toyota Tercel. What will you accomplish? You'll blow out the drive train, the clutch, the transmission, etc., because those factory parts aren't designed to handle the power of an engine much more powerful than the factory installed engine.
Push-ups basically only train the chest muscles and to some extent, the triceps. What you really want to do is train your entire body, all the major muscle groups (chest, back, abdomen, legs, shoulders and arms) at the same time, over the course of a workout. And don't forget your cardiovascular work!
She just kind of hand waved it: "It's a video game character from something Walrus was playing", which is the truth, as far as it goes. Enough of an answer to be proper, but not enough to encourage further curiosity. She's deft like that.Althamus wrote:xD What did you say?Walrusfella wrote: They were wondering who the cutesy encouragement girl on chart was.
Congratulations! I remember you considering your options. That sounds like a good decision. Good luck with your plan!gRaViJa wrote:Small update on my side here: still doing 2 runs a week, just not using fitocracy at the moment =/ I also started an internship today at my country's government, all part of my plan i started putting together after playing KS
I'm no expert either, but I don't fully agree with that gentleman's assessment. Push ups work a lot of muscles at the same time. I wouldn't do a similar programme with bicep curls or something because it would be too specific, but the push ups have already made me overall stronger with other tasks like moving boxes.Sk3ch wrote: Reddit post

Like they say in cereal commercials, the hundred pushups program is "part of a complete workout".
