...What's a bird drawing got to do with anything? o-o

And we all know Rin has mind control powers. How else would she get Emi to [dress her, help her bathe, shave her crotch] day in and day out? There's obviously supernatural mental enslavement involved here.

Ehhh, I have to say Shizune, for the simple reason of personality clashes.

Dude. I had no idea you hadn't even finished the game yet. This explains a lot.

Run, don't walk, to 100% the game. Seriously. You're doing yourself a disservice.

That's not just a bird! That's the bird that is Rin! Metaphorically speaking.

...If I seriously had to wait until I finished the entire game before posting here, I'd probably never even join this forum.

Also, KS isn't the kind of game you run to complete. The moments I enjoy Lily's route most are the moments when I slow down, let go of my annoyance with her being boring, and allow myself to savor the emotions portrayed.

Like that bit where Lily and Hisao embrace in the wheat field. I'd be lying if I said that didn't move me.

That said, Hisao says, "I love you, Lily," too many times. :P

Shizune is my least favorite girl. It's not that I don't like her, I just dislike her personality. I don't like that she controls Hisao, and even other people.

People are only controlled if they allow it.

The fact that she even tries to is telling though. Besides, emotional manipulation isn't that simple.

on the contrary, it's quite easy, doing it well, thats the hard bit.

When does she try, beyond her basic duties of enforcing rules and forcing Hisao and Misha to do council work?

Sea: I meant that it's not that simple to break out of strong emotional manipulation when you're the victim, that's why it works.

Potato: She pretty much was constantly trying to guilt Hisao in to joining the council the entire time in Act 1. That's what she's doing when you first meet her. That's not a very good base for a relationship to build on.

You mean all that time she's going out of her way to prevent Hisao from curling up like a depressed wad of angst in his dorm room by making him get out and involved with life? Yeah, how dare she... :P

I can't think of any time she's ever actually controlling Hisao or anybody aside from variations of "Follow the rules!" or "Time for council work!"...Which, given her position, are mandatory. At most, there's a history of her Hitlering all over the old student council but we don't really see much of that firsthand.

Encouraging is one thing, but she actively tries to make him feel like he has to join the council or else he'll hurt her feelings, or that he has an obligation to because of some game they played and so on. That isn't positive. It's actually kind of twisted.

Besides, she also pretty much never stops being impatient and/or pushy the entire time you're around her doing group work, which isn't fun either.

I feel like I need to make it clear that being naggy and impatient is agitating but not really very controlling at all. He endures the attempts of his own will and joins up of his own will.

Plus, turning down the council actually would hurt her feelings if her own route is any indication.

I suppose so. I don't know, it just bothered me personally, I guess. I don't hate her, in fact I'd probably be okay with her IRL, she's just not my tube of lemon lubricant, y'know?
