Emi>Hanako>Lilly>Rin>Shizune

Though not 100% sure on the order of rin & shizune, been a while.

Here's my order and the reasoning behind them.

Rin
I've said it several times how first time round I accidentally ended up going down Rin's route while aiming for Lilly's. My choices through the first three acts lead to me having the three options to choose from when the decision in the Atelier appeared. It was well past midnight, I had work in the morning, I was tried and having three options just threw me. I spent a good minute or so before I decided to go with 'Explain'. 66.6% chance of success and I ballsed it up. Not only that, it ends so sudden. The concept of bad endings never crossed my mind beforehand and it shocked me senseless.

To me, the parting in the rain is the bad ending that tears me up the most emotionally because at first, it gave me a false hope. It was only when Hisao and Rin leave the gallery I realised that once again, it wasn't going to end well...and boy, it's like slowly ripping a plaster with spikes off a hairy leg. PAINFUL.

The final CG in the field is the best final imagine of all the routes. But with hindsight, it also rips me up. It took me three tries to get there. I girl I bonded with the most and I failed to understand her. Even after a year and replaying it several times and I still don't entirely get her.

Emi
After finishing Rin's route, I had the big decision of what path to try next. During my first run in Act 1, I didn't like Emi. Her energy and determination to get Hisao to exercise didn't rub off me well. But during her scenes in Acts 2 and 4 of Rin's path, she really grew on me. Got her good end first time round and didn't need Misha's help to get me their. I think I can safely say (partly thanks to Spunky's active campaigning) that she is the best girl...but Rin forever holds her place in my heart...man it sound creepy typing that out.

Shizune
I didn't like Emi in Act 1 but boy, I LOATHED Shizune. At first, I was planning on doing her route last and I wasn't looking forward to it at all. But then I decided to go for the Shit Sandwich approach (put the bad filling in between the good stuff). Don't know if it was my initial lack of interest or the pacing of the route, but it came to 'comforting' Misha, I decided to save there and then to get the bad ending out of the way. Knowing what results lay ahead, I was bored by the time the bad credits rolled. Same applies to good credits.

Hanako
Choosing to do Hanako route was kinda like Rin's. I didn't intend to it, but this time I had a proper reason, I wanted to save Lilly for last and Hanako was the girl that drew the short straw. Had things worked out different, it could have been Rin instead. Anyway, I put myself in a corner by deciding to call it a day after Lilly left. After that, you're stuck on the train to badendville. It was the only time I consulted a guide to get me through to the good end. Thank god I found out out the skip function at this point, otherwise I would have ended up with arthritis worse than Natsume with all the speed clicking.

Lilly
Coming round full circle, I finished the game the way I wanted to start with in the first place by going for the bonny lass. Truth be told, I found her route to be a breeze, the only decisions that made me pause for a moment where the ones that didn't affect the final outcome. But at least I got a post credit scene to go with it. Best way to end my final route.


The other endings (Hanako's Neutral, Emi's bad and Lilly's Neural), I can't remember in which order I did them in, I was just gunning for the 100% at that point, but I was disappointed that Lilly's neural end was just the good path cut off when she leaves for the airport. Manly picnic, I seem to recall doing that deliberately between Shizune's and Hanako's route for the lulz.

Hanako > Lilly > Shizune (current) > Emi > Rin

I was originally going to take Lilly first, but then a wild image appeared (which I would post here if I could find the damn thing ) and just sort of... nudged me in the right direction.

Best nudge ever.

My plan:

Emi > Rin > Hanako > Lilly > Shizune

1) Act One (Kenji End) - Deliberate out of curiosity to see the default ending.

2) Emi, bad end then good end.

3) Lilly, bad end then good end.

4) Hanako, deliberate bad end (just because) then good end.

5) Rin, bad end then neutral end then good end. A flow chart was employed at some point because I could never remember how to actually get onto her route in the first place.

6) Shizune, deliberate bad end (you all know why) then good end.

Yeah, eventually I figured out what he was referencing.

Haha, as far as I recall I joined the forums as a way of venting after finishing off Emi's, so I was playing through it while I was fanboy shitposting. Hopefully I'm not doing the fanboy bit as much now, even if the shitposting is still there (I'm working on that.)
